Bibliography of South Asia

Rate this book
This bibliography covers the area of South Asia comprised of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The period of coverage is primarily recent scholarship over the past ten years dealing with the subcontinent as well as the South Asian Diaspora. What is unique about this bibliography is the very close classification using the Library of Congress subject headings. This has been done for pedagogical reasons. Because of the vast amount of information on South Asia, the compiler has provided a representative sample of topics on any given subject. With the subject headings in this bibliography, the reader can then easily go to any library catalog and search for additional topics with the heading or substitute one country with another.

The purpose of this bibliography is to stimulate the reader's interest by presenting a sampling of the wide array of subjects of recently published materials on South Asia, and to guide the reader to other more specific sources of information about the area. This work is meant primarily for the undergraduate and beginning graduate students who are looking for topics for research papers and for nonspecialists interested in South Asia.
