I found a copy if this from my childhood. The original was published in 1967 but my edition is from 1985 (printed and bound for Hamlyn in the erstwhile Yugoslavia!)
I didn't remember any of the stories though I know I did read this more than once when I first got it. I think my school library was quite strict about how many books I could borrow so the ones I owned got re-read often.
The girls in this are so smart, forward and adventurous, better than Nancy Drew and her ilk! They're traveling around in their own, even taking odd jobs, meeting strangers and outsmarting crooks while the world seems like a welcoming, friendly place.
One of the stories has a very innocent romance and then marriage seems on the cards for the 27 year old MC but on the whole, these stories delivered on their promise.
