On a hiking trip through Coney’s Creek, Samuel Platt and his family happen upon a land-marker on the trail. Upon investigating, Samuel unexpectedly loses consciousness. When he awakes again, he finds himself in a new location and his family is nowhere to be found. He does not know who moved him, nor does he have any distinct memory of this part of the park. Yet, he cannot shake the suspicion that he has been there before. This allegory is a presentation of the spiritual life of Samuel Platt. It is meant to challenge the reader to see past the sense of security that the mundaneness of our current existence sometimes brings, and into eternity. I hope this simple story clearly expresses how fragile our lives are, and therefore how urgent our need for salvation.
