Lies, lies and more lies
Whew Chile.....where do I even start. Dallas was loyal to a fault and that loyalty and trust in her parents led her to lead a life that she didn't want. Seth her husband of 12 years knew that Dallas deserved more than he had been offering her, but instead of stepping up and changing his ways. He chose his vices and preyed on women just because he could. He constantly abused his power to the point where his life was literally out of control. Ra (which immediately made me think of rhe sun) enters this mess to protect Dallas since Seth's foolery has endangered her. Ra was literally like the sun, he brought light to everything he touched. I was about through with Dallas...I was tired of this pull she had towards Seth. He was literally a habitual liar, gambler, cheat...you name it he was doing it. His actions were so selfish and she just kept falling for his bs. I felt like Ra deserved more, he was so sweet, protective, nurturing and sexy... like what more do you want Dallas?? I get it years put in, but that doesn't excuse all the disrespect Seth consistently showed. It was like she couldn't fully let him go, even though Ra consistently showed up for her and her kids. Sis had me on edge. The family dynamics were dominating and the author did a good job relaying that message because I was sick of them. I was so glad when they finally started standing up to them. I was fully engaged and truly enjoyed these characters.
