Our editor declared these novellas the best of the best among this collection. If you must only pick up one book of this volume, then this is the one to choose. Although, in all fairness, they are all pretty amazing. Don't choose. Get them all.
Today is release day (yes, on a Sunday) for the Running Wild Press Novella Anthology Vol. 3 No. 2, which includes my comedic novella Somewhat Misunderstood. This was one of the first four novels I wrote (originally 60,000 words, now trimmed to 36,000) before I found my voice. It probably would've become my voice if my life hadn't fallen apart the first time. When I wrote it, I was a timid young reporter at The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, West Virginia. It's a slapstick novel, and playful jab in the ribs to the city I had come to love. I won't hard-sell you on this one, but if you're familiar with my work and would like to read something that is not like ANY of that, then this is the book for you. I still laugh when I read it. That's probably why it's the only one of those first four books to survive this long.
