This book tells the story of Dylan (or Deadly D), an indigenous boy from Mount Isa in Queensland. He has an incredible Hulk-like power to turn himself into a fully grown man. That man is known as Deadly D, a champion rugby league player.

The reader is taken through various adventures featuring Dylan (sometimes as Deadly D) and his close friend Justice Jones. The adventures are entertaining, and keep the reader interested throughout.

The book will appeal to readers who follow the NRL, as well as anyone who enjoys sport. It will appeal most to readers in their late primary or early middle school years.

I did think that parts of the story where a little predictable. There were also times when the humour was a little too basic.

Overall, it is a book worth reading.
