This was a short read ( just under 200 psges) about a husband ( who's a lawyer and part of the series law group: Valentine Law). The fmc ( wife) thinks that they have a good happy marriage. They'd been together since they were 14 and married more then a decade ( mid 30s) and childless. Everything crashes down on the fmc when she discovers a text that indicates her hisband was intimate with another woman. When she confronts him, he admits to a one night stand. She tries to hurt him physically ( not going to hliss lightly over that one, she could have k**led him.

Then she needs to take time to herself to seoerate herself from her husband to decide if she wants to divorce him. He rejects his friends invitation for therapy but eventually does go.

The story was entertaining and I did root for the couple.

A decent MIT tale, with wife's discovery of his cheating via a text early on first chapter. She goes ballistic grabbing a knife and looking towards gun closet😂 Luckily, we get past this period.Although the progression of the tale and the infidelity semantics were solid, unfortunately I wasn't feeling the angst in my gut. This is likely me, my issue r\t health variables and exhaustion😂
On a positive note,H is no shrinking violet(obviously, all the weaponry about!) and there is confrontation, and sufficient grovel\attempts at conflict resolution on a road to forgiveness and reconciliation...all supported by worthy rhetoric.
So though missing something, something in my head and heart space, still rec to friends who enjoy the genre!

Keeva Ɛ Kareem

Well, this one was better than the last installment, even though it wasn't a continuous story. Kareem cheated on his wife of 15 years and must deal with the aftermath. Keeva obviously loved her man, but it was kinda frustrating that everyone's advice was to work it out and fix it with Kareem. For such a big issue, I feel like there wasn't enough depth or substance. I thought the reconciliation was done way too quick. Altogether, this was pretty enjoyable. I do love the author's writing style. I'll definitely read more of her work after this series. Off to the last book.

Mixed feelings

As a topic I found it interesting. How do you get past infidelity. However, I felt like the book was going in circles and was quite repetitive” your marriage as you know it is dead”. I really disliked the participative behavior. For me a marriage is 2 people, you can’t concern yourself with how it is going to affect other people, otherwise you cannot be honest about how happy you really are or not. On that basis I didn’t like how she basically was telling everyone that he cheated on her, including the friend she hasn’t seen for over 10 years. Some things are meant to stay private. Very often, you forgive your spouse but others don’t so easily which makes things awkward and it’s difficult to move forward. Same thing, I’m all for counseling and group therapy but I don’t think that it should be with friends or people you know for the same reason. It’s hard to stay impartial. There’s a reason groups like AA are anonymous. Again, and I suppose it’s down to personal beliefs but for me your therapist should be a professional with no religious biased. A good example as for why is when the pastor said that the man was the leader of the house or asking why he let her friend stay around.

Good!

I’m so glad we got a story with Keeva & Kerem! I kinda figured out ahead of time why Kerem was acting the way he was toward Keeva in book 2 of the Valentine Law Series & I’m extremely sad that I was right! I’m Key because I definitely would have wanted to do some type of bodily harm on my husband to betray my trust after 15 years of marriage. Most definitely! They both were too caught up in their accomplishments that they totally forgot and disregarded their marriage which both played a part. Of course Kerem doing the most. He had to win Keeva back by starting completely over and gaining her trust, while Keeva had to be willing to forgive and try again. This book was good with a lot of little wisdom tokens to take away from the story! Great read.

Really Appreciate this Author

I enjoyed this story to the highest level of enjoyment. The story was a deep emotional journey for a couple dealing with infidelity. It was realistic and had a level of attention to telling a thoughtful story. I Trusted the authors plot would unfold nicely. She delivered.

Not an OMG wow but a pensive WOW!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I think it must be because for the first time in my reading, journey, am unfaithful partner is not demonized. I love the way Kerem is scripted. Even as the offender - he’s deserving of grace and is extremely vulnerable. A stupid decision threatens his entire existence.

Rarely in romance books do we see the offender portrayed in this way. A positive light in-spite of his very negative mishap. He is not his mistake and this book shows that! HIs behavior is not condoned AT ALL but you get to see the vulnerability of the offender you get to see the alpha male struggle to maintain in marriage when he royally screws up.

You get to see imperfection in marriage, even in the place where persons are in love you get to understand the complexities of love and realize that it is not all glittering golden perfection. think I really enjoyed the journey for both the offender and the offended and I loved both of them. None of them for me was the villain I empathized and I felt sorry for Kerem but I really love the way. he took ownership for what he dod and how he really tried to make his wrongs right.

I am pro-marriage person but I am not a pro abuse person I think marriages are complex. I think marriages are beautiful. I think love is to be celebrated and I think this book for me was a real reflection and true celebration of love and I absolutely enjoyed it, and I would highly recommend it, I would definitely read this again!

Trust the process

Wow! This was an excellent read!

I’m not married but I’ve been in a relationship or two, have friends who are or were married and parents who divorced. I have said cheat once and that’s it, never making room for forgiveness. Of course the men weren’t like Reem so it was in my best interest to let it go.

This story gave me a window into the process couples can go through to get to forgiveness and working on the marriage. People I know have gone through counseling but I don’t think it went like this. Of course Reem and Key were willing to do the work or at least fight for their marriage.

It has to be extremely hard to make such a commitment and dang near have it voided by infidelity. I appreciate this book for what it revealed and how to go through the process.

Yes this entire series that Bailey West wrote is absolutely great. The Valentine law group and their stories were just well written. I like Morris ,Cam and Skylar and Phoenix Morris’s two daughters. The time table of how the story played out wasn’t too long ,Morris is a great dad. The other characters in this story just wanted me to reach in the book and slap them. Namely the girls mother. Yes this story is way to common you will see characters that you can relate to and those who will aggravate you. This book and the entire series gets a five star rating. Thanks Bailey West. Keep reading y’all.

Definitely A Process!

This is truly a work of art. To see the process of a marriage from beginning to end on so many levels were eye opening. I'm sure the way Yeeva thought, many women had the same level of thinking when infidelity was involved. I respected Kereem's position in all of this because he manned up and became a peace to quiet the storm that brewed in his marriage and gave his all to it and now look what happened a little blessing with more to come. Great Read! ! ReneeG

This series is 🔥. I find it interesting to see how perspectives can change over time work age, experiences and maturity. I loved the bond of the Patterson sisters. Their drunken episode was a full belly laugh. Kerem and Keena had been friends from middle school. They evolved sometimes together and sometime in their mind with misinformation. Watching them struggle but feeling their love and self doubt gave me pause and a different line of thought as to what to do in a crisis of epic proportion.

I can't wait to read the finale.

Yes

I will say this book really had me in my feels .Men need to think sometimes of ther actions. But Kerem learned that his actions was an impact on more then him and Keeve .The family and friends taught him how to relive his wife and start a new chapter with her . And yes I found out that it is Eddie King Junior. ( not Cane) the things you learn while reading . Please read this series you will love it .

Ups and downs of a marriage - Kerem and Keeva

3 1/2 stars.......Kerem and Keeva have been together since middle school - married for 15 years of a 22 year relationship. Kerem cheated. Keeva struggles with forgiving him. This book is full of lay person marriage counseling. This story didn't have enough of a bite for me. They were clearly going to end up together and I can't honestly say that I was truly interested in the journey. They were a cute couple, though.

This one was....okay

Felt it took a little long for Keeva and Karem to actually get to Trusting The Process. Was stunned when ole girl showed up out of now where. But was impressed with how the author chose to show the graceful side of the heroine while not backing down. Loved that everything eventually got to where they needed to be.

I wanted to kick Kerem's Ass!!!!

Lord, I didn't know what to do with myself at the end of book 2! I could have clawed Reem's eyes out and not felt an ounce of remorse. Then the little chicken head wants to keep popping up? Whew, Chile!!! This read is in part Marriage Counseling in Book Form. I would love to attend Pastor DeLucas and Lady Elisa's church home.

Forgive and forgiving

Bailey West has done an excellent job in showing how lack of communication, unspoken truths, lack of attention, pride , ego and pain can stand in the way of trust and forgiveness. Good story

I disagree, beat the dude’s ass over a chicks. It’s no point to go after them, especially if you’re not beating on your dude that stepped out on you

Hershey squirts 😂🤣

I love that Kerem is trying yet respecting Keeva’s boundaries. Usually I’m like f that ni33a.

Ok. About what I said about beating a bitch ass. I guess there are some scenarios where it is warranted. This ho knows his wife knows and she still came over. She really wanted her ass whooped, so I was waiting on Key to comply. She ruined their first date. Tbh, it was no else fault but Reems. He brought this into their life. Such a shame that Key has to pay the price as well.

Hotep bank. Oh lawd.

I’m glad keeva and reems are really trying to put in work.

I’m annoyed that JD’s acting like Kenny broke some code as if his wrong was worse than Tara. I’m side eyeing the bishop.

Once I saw they were at a cardinals game, I already knew what the deals was. So happy for Keeva and Kerem
