“Postpartum Happiness” is a deeply moving and valuable book that addresses one of the most heartbreaking challenges a mother can face: postpartum depression and the guilt that comes with it. Written with empathy and understanding by author Marissa Zwetow, this guide offers a hopeful and practical perspective for mothers struggling emotionally after the birth of their children.

From the first pages, the author creates an encouraging and kind environment, acknowledging that motherhood is not always a bed of roses and that it is perfectly normal to experience a wide range of emotions. The author addresses those mothers who, despite their deep love for their children, are overwhelmed by sadness, anxiety, and a sense of guilt, avoiding them from fully enjoying motherhood.

In short, it is an excellent resource for mothers suffering from postpartum depression and feeling trapped by guilt and a failure to fully embrace becoming moms. Zwetow provides an oasis of hope and a path to mental wellness through her gentle approach, practical strategies, and moving testimonials.

This was such a pure, honest, and sensible self-help book. Postpartum Happiness: What to do when you love the kids, but hate the job by Marissa Zwetow LMFT takes us on a journey to motherhood and what to expect when you experience it for the first time. Often times I see on social media pictures of new born babies and as someone who doesn't have a child yet, I feel like the new moms have such a wonderful, sweet life with their new baby. And that is true, but in this book it gave me a clearer vision that not all new moms feel happy the moment they give birth and it's not because they don't love their child, but because of so many reasons that have something to do within the psychological and inner self. The message and intent of this book is very sensible and I love how Marissa described her feelings about her child. I realized and learned so many things through this book.

This is one of those books which all moms should read at some point during their motherhood. Postpartum Happiness offers us a brief narrative, but with a lot of benefits and insights for mothers.
The author speaks first-hand to us, and she includes sayings from other mothers, what I found really interesting since I realized I was not the only one feeling the way I was feeling when I birth to my son.
Its message is clear and the way Zwetow talks to us seems as if it was a friend the one who is telling us all those things. I found the reading really easy-flowing and natural. I absolutely recommend it!

“Postpartum Happiness” by Marissa Zwetow is the ideal book for women who are going to have a baby soon and who want to be prepared for it in the best possible way and for mothers of young babies who are struggling to cope. Being a mother is not easy, but this book is full of valuable information, advice and tips that will make everything much easier relating to the baby.

The parts of the book that I found the most important are the ones dealing with postpartum depression. The author states that one out of seven women experience this and must seek help. I was also very touched by the author’s candid and kind letter to her daughter. This book is priceless!
