A mermaid has a message for the earth about our seas and oceans, and she requires your help. Find out what is happening with our oceans and what we can do to save them. What's the Commotion in the Ocean? is a rhyming children's book reflecting on the current happenings in the ocean and what we can do to help.
Great artwork and message. My only negative thing, and it's only a slight negative thing, but for a children's book some of the vocabulary is a bit advanced compared to the book's size and artwork. Besides that, I love the message.
This is a very informative, fun to follow along story about all the pollution in the ocean. I am in the landlocked Midwest and could have used more books like this when I was younger. I didn't go to an ocean until I was nearly an adult. I also love the illustrations, especially the fabulous mermaids.
Thank you, Nyasha, for helping build Parenting Across Color Lines "Little Diverse Library"! As a parent and teacher of multicultural students, it's SO great to see a book featuring and written by a BIPOC author. Fingers crossed we will see more of these!!
Beautifully written and illustrated Children's book. A rhyming children's book, delivering a great message, easy to understand and has attractive illustrations to elevate the interest and imagination of the readers. Nyasha Williams writes about the importance of Ocean and how we can help for it's conservation instead of destroying it gradually. Gorgeous, thoughtful and thought-provoking. Instead of mundane words she penned down an imaginative word with mermaids. The illustrations cover the entire page, vividly done with a keen eye to details and flamboyant style. I have no doubt that this is the most beautiful and thoughtful children's book. I would definitely give this book 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for the brilliant work of bother the writer and the illustrator. Highly recommended! For children and the adults as well because the art is bewitching.
We are so glad to know that this beautiful book exists! Now, more than ever, we need accessible and representative books for children that advocate for the protection of our earth and oceans. Ms. Williams’ story is fun and engaging, while also providing excellent information. The story uses kid-friendly, rhyming language and encourages kids to take specific steps towards being part of the solution. The pictures are gorgeous, full of all kinds of sea dwellers in vibrant colors. We highly recommend this book for families who want to learn more about pollution and how to help clean up our oceans! We are excited to share this in our LFL - The Antiracist Little Library. @AntiracistLibrary20 on Instagram.
