She's My Future

Rate this book
Monroe Edwards is a bit of an enigma. He’s lived his entire life as a player. But while he might look like your typical heartthrob, he’s a jokester at heart. With his corny pick-up lines and his dad jokes, he is rarely taken seriously. When Kennedy catches his eye, she makes him reconsider his plan to be a lifelong bachelor. But will she be charmed by his light hearted side or will he experience his first heartbreak?
Kennedy Kane is new to Nashville and not your typical country music star. With purple tips in her hair and a look that screams rock goddess, Kennedy is sure to set the town on fire. Getting discovered by Renee Cutler’s band while playing a set at the Bluebird Cafe brings her dreams to life. Will her rise to fame be everything she’s ever dreamed of, or will it open old wounds that never fully healed?
She’s My Future is book 4 of the Hearts of Nashville series. While it can be read as a standalone, reading the other three books first will give a lot more context and background to the main characters.

Kennedy got her big shot in Nashville while performing at a local club. She couldn’t believe her luck when they asked her to open for them on their upcoming tour. All her dreams were happening in real time, and her excitement was off the charts.
Monroe was tired of groupies and the empty feeling that came with them, especially now that his bandmates were all in steady relationships. He felt old and left out—even though he was only twenty-three.
These two were adorable and funny together. Monroe had the cheesiest pickup lines and texted her several times a day until he finally wore her down and she agreed to date him. Kennedy was just as cheesy with her knock-knock jokes, and they were kind of perfect for each other. Until something was printed about her and, for some reason, she took it out on Monroe. She went from being crazy about him to complete no contact—won’t look at him, won’t talk to him, nothing.
But you have to love Monroe. He’s such a decent guy, and even with his heartbreak, he never really walks away.
I loved the ending and I’m giving this book four stars. I definitely recommend it.

Well another good one by Jenilee Wallace. I really enjoyed this Rockstar read. But of course it is my favorite genre. Although I did find Monroe to be corny with all of his jokes and pick up lines. I imagined dating someone like that and I just could not see it. However, the story line was well handled. Thank you BookSprout for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a sweet romance. It was a really intriguing book. I liked it so much that I sat down and read it in one sitting. It was really sweet with a little tension and uncertainty for the two main characters. But the way they came together was touching. This is a wonderfully cozy read.

I am definitely a fan of this series. Add in suspense and rockstar romance and I was hooked. Monroe's corny jokes were adorable, he never gave up. Wasn't happy with Kennedy at the beginning, but she came thru in the end. Can't wait to see what happens next.
