Brie Tart writes character driven fantasies (with a touch of romance) for teens and adults. Mythology and folklore have always inspired her work, and with every story she seeks to find the humanity in the monsters of legend. When not writing, she deciphers languages and makes her own adventures with her family: her jack-of-all-trades husband and photogenic, fluffy cat.
And the story continues...Before starting the book I went to see the right pronunciation of the Irish names again, and it helped me a lot 😁. I was very curious to know how the story of Maya and Daire would go on and I was certainly not disappointed. The themes of betrayal, friendship, family loyalty are reflected in the book followed by action and suspense. The love triangle of Rio, Maya and Daire hovered me and made me raise many questions. I adored the moments when Daire and Maya were looking for treasures to keep open the portal between the human and magical worlds. The political issues of Aos Si in Tir Na Nog made this book more interesting. I finally realized that the author will soon bring the third book of this series. I'm very excited about this! Thank you to the author for sending me the second book of "Exiles of Erie" saga. I can't wait to have the third one when it's published.
**I was asked for an honest review of this work in exchange for a free copy of the book** Wow! There’s plenty of action in this 2nd instalment! Maya and Daire are looking for treasures to ensure the portal between the human and magical realms remains open. Few twists here and there to keep you on your toes. Allies and foes reveal themselves. Two friendships/love stories are ongoing and by the end of the book you still don’t know how it’s going to pan out. It’s a very good book and you cannot get bored. There’s plenty to keep you guessing!
I love portal fantasy, and this did not disappoint. Rio was hands down my favourite and the relationships between the characters were so well played out. Really thorough world building too, I'm all about the visuals and this delivered in full. Looking forward to the next instalment in Maya and Daire's adventure!
Drama, friendships, family loyalty and betrayal all rolled into one book. Daire and Maya are after 3 artifacts to save Daire’s life and get Maya back home. They run into half truths and disappointments. I really enjoyed this book. You get sucked into the characters and the political aspects of the Aos Si (EES SHEE) in Tir Na Nog.
An excellent continuation of a spellbinding, epic fantasy tale. With incredible characters, a thick and dense plot and written in a way that hooks you and keeps you, this is not to be missed. It was very suspenseful at times which made it all the more enjoyable. I honestly cannot wait to see how the series continues.
This book was an emotional roller coaster ride. I’m so there for love triangles. This one between Rio, Daire, and Maya coupled with the complications introduced by the plot was rather captivating. I also loved the magic and political scheming and the complicated family relationships involved. Everything came together to make this book pretty hard to put down.
