Casey "C.S." Fritz grew up on a farm in Oregon, where he milked cows and had a pet pig. To escape the endless chores of cleaning chicken coops and watering tomatoes...Casey would draw.
As a young child, Casey's family moved to Arizona. It was there beneath the fiery gaze of the Southwestern sun, that he spent most of his life. Graduating school, marrying the love of his life and having two wild kids. It was also there that C.S. Fritz's work began to take traction with local galleries and art publications.
C.S. Fritz now is an award-winning author and illustrator with published children's titles as... The Cottonmouth Trilogy, Good Night Tales, The Moonman Cometh, Seekers, and Good Night Classics!
Fritz's debut novel, A Fig For All The Devils released Halloween, 2021. Fig won best in horror with the IBPA's and is now in the works to be a major motion picture.
Other horror works by Fritz are, All Creatures Living Beneath The Sun, and Cabbage.
How can you help your children find excitement in seeking God? In Seekers, C. S. Fritz takes your family on an interactive journey in following Jesus.
This workbook has the look and feel of a mysterious journal, wanting to be read by your family to discover and unlock the secrets within. It’s bright and colorful while remaining moody. The target audience is children ages 8-12. I haven’t seen anything like this, and it’s filled with wonderful theological truths.
Biblical Themes
Word puzzles and activities will draw your children to study Bible passages in a fun and exciting way. There are open-ended questions for further discussion with your family. Jesus remains at the heart of this book, and the various clues and riddles are meant to help you know him and what it means to follow him.
Biblical themes are presented in their most memorable ways. Clay is used to remind us of our Maker, while rainbows remind us of God’s promises. I love the emphasis on more obscure themes, such as snakes representing our need for a savior, and honey that represents the sweetness of the Word of life.
Finding Jesus
With over 200 pages, this book is meant to be explored. A parent guide is included at the end to help you keep your kids on track. It’s worth mentioning that the pages seem especially thick, making it ideal to take on the road or in a backpack. Your children can take this book with them wherever they go.
While meant to be used for families, I can see this book being used in Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible Schools, and youth small groups. Older children might feel comfortable using it as an independent activity. As the world begins to reopen, this book will be a great help in keeping your family grounded in the Word, seeking the Kingdom of God, and finding Jesus.
I received a media copy of Seekers and this is my honest review.
C.S. Fritz is one of the most mind-blowing creative, his imaginative look at Scripture, and his capacity for fun. If you have kids 8-12 years old, you have gotta pick this up. Really.
There are twenty cases to solve in the book. One of the many things I love is that each case focuses on an element (like clay, doves, snakes, bones, bread, salt, etc.) and then Fritz takes you to Bible passages in both the Old Testament and the New Testament to see how God used these elements to join us in relationship.
Some of the cases are pretty challenging. There is a parent's guide in the back of the book to help you solve the puzzles and also to help prompt discussions.
