Fascinating guide to the greatest collection of historic churches in such in a small area by the subjects leading author. That so may survive is both miraculous and providential. And to think that the 40 that remain (plus 9 others partly still visible) are just less that 50% of the 107 that jostled with each other before the Great Fire of 1666!
