I hated the main character. The story was boring and predictable and most of the characters were extremely misogynistic. The “feminists” in the story were caricatures, and I wanted to scream when I was reading it. The author tries to excuse it by saying that it was acceptable since the characters live in rural KY. The “mystery” was predictable and boring. Some aspects of the story were confusing. Blevins doesn't even turn the killer in at the end! Honestly, giving this book one star was generous. I will not be reading any more of this series. Don't waste your time.

Haskell Blevins is hired to follow Maedean Puckett and prove to her husband that she isn't fooling around--but he's been hired by Maedean. So he's positioned to give her a perfect alibi when her husband is murdered. But Haskell is afraid he's been set up--after all, Maedean does have a sister who looks a lot like her and who doesn't seem to like the late husband--or any other men.
