About Author Garris L. R. Coleman

Telling a great story is more than entertaining the audience; a truly great story will captivate them and leave the reader wanting to know more, long after the last chapter is read. That is the goal for Author Garris L. R. Coleman with every book he writes.

Born in the beautiful United States, GLRC is a fantasy fiction author, best known for his series Curse of Crowns. The books he creates are meant to draw in the reader to a world outside their everyday life. He’s not looking to educate or sway your mind; GLRC’s mission with his novels is to entertain.

From an early age, GLRC loved using his creativity to entertain others. At just 4-years-old, the little boy from Cleveland, Tennessee, taught himself how to play the drums. His love for music continued to grow as he got older. As a teen, he learned to play the guitar and began writing his own songs. He even joined a rock n’ roll band, living out many young kids’ dreams.

After high school, GLRC enrolled at Augusta State University. He continued to pursue his love of sound production and now has learned how to play ten different instruments. He did this all while working full-time.

As a young adult, GLRC discovered another outlet he fell in love with. At 22-years-old he began training in martial arts. He has competed in several tournaments since, and has even taken 1st and 2nd places for Sparring and Weapons Division. It’s a passion he continues to pursue today.

It wasn’t until GLRC was a father playing video games with his son that he discovered a new career path that really sparked his imagination. These alternate worlds and dramatic storylines were so captivating. He realized he wanted to create fantasy stories that would spark the same excitement these games did for he and his son. He finds inspiration in many places whether it be tenting in the deserts under the stars, exploring the jungles, adventures in the mountains, basking upon the beaches, or cruise along the rivers, he has traveled to many places including China, Japan, Germany, Poland, and Canada which has influenced his creative style and process.

All of this may seem like an unconventional path to becoming an author, but the road GLRC has taken shapes the stories he tells. Every experience has led him to writing the imaginative fifteen book series; Curse of Crowns, War On All Shores series.

In October of 2019, GLRC’s first novel, Curse of Crowns: Kings Transcend, was published. Less than one year later, his second novel, Curse of Crowns: Blood You Will Taste, launched. He is currently busy working on his third installment of the series, Through Devils Eye.

In his free time, GLRC loves spending time with his wife and three kids, playing music, traveling, working on his photography, dabbling in graphic design, and learning computer programing. Love for all the arts catapults him into embracing an author role full of energy and zeal by putting a sense of positive intentions together with liveliness.

He hopes that through his writing readers will feel a spark of imagination for themselves and look forward to reading the next in a series of tantalizing tales by the author.

"Every writer starts with a blank page and filling it with words is easy. Drawing readers into the story is another craft entirely." - Garris L. R. Coleman

OK OK. Típico final que termina con una bomba. AND I LIKE IT

Kings Transcend by Garris L. R. Coleman is the first installment in the fantasy series of Curse of Crowns.

Filled with beautiful and uncommon names this book is set in a completely different world that is described vividly by the author. The vibe set is completely intriguing and the plot is twisty. This book is full of surprises. You get a slight hint of the roller coaster ride you are getting into, in the very first chapter of the novel. The element of shock, curiousity and wonder is present in almost all the chapters. It hooks you instantly and doesn't let you go.

The writing style is simple and makes sure you slide through the chapters.

"Every era has its birth. Ours was vicious."

There are kings, princesses, witches, vicious creatures and more to keep you gripped and in awe. It ends on a cliffhanger and is about betrayal. It also is about love, family and friendship. The story is cruel and dark and so very SATISFYING.

Also did I mention it has a GORGEOUS book maps?!😍😍

This book is full of surprises, twists and turns. The imagery is insanely beautiful and really makes you feel like you are walking alongside the characters (which have incredibly beautiful and unique names may I add). This book is incredibly detailed and has amazing maps drawn to add to the imagery. I really enjoyed the fantasy of this book, the ending is not one you’d be able to predict. 5/5

This book is one that depicts the true heart of fantasy. Many of its kind may not be seen ever again, so I advise whosoever could read this review to please help themselves to KINGS TRANSCEND by Garris L.R Coleman. It is the first installment in the Curse of Crowns fantasy book series. The Narrative is great and the Plot splendid.

My new favorite series! I could not put this book down. The way the story unfolds keeps you on the edge of your seat. I really loved the way the story was told. Definitely an original. The character's names were refreshingly different, and the ending I did not see it coming!! I cannot wait for the next book.

This story is addictive - you can’t put it down.

The authors style of writing is so imaginative and captivating. It’s very elegant and well thought out, the story moves at its own pace keeping you gripped with every single word. The descriptions transport you to the different worlds the imagery created is mind blowing I loved this story and can not wait to continue reading The series

I was very honoured to receive a copy of this book from the author himself and my review has in no way been affected by this.

I was already intrigued by the story and couldn't wait to read this. As I started, I immediately was drawn into the writing style. It flowed beautifully from one point to another. I'm always quite critical of sentence structure but the author has done such a fantastic job in keeping me engaged and wanting to keep reading and reading to find out what happens next.

The description of places, events and even clothing was beautifully done and really helped to paint an image in my head, allowing me to become a part of the story itself.

The story itself was very interesting and dark - one of my all-time favourite themes. There were also sad moments that really hurt after connecting with the characters but played necessary parts in order to fulfil the story. The characters were well thought out with solid dialogue and could relate well to the reader.

Spoilers! The witch was my absolute favourite character and was able to be intoxicating with her dialogue and her gestures all the while being quite terrifying and unpredictable and I really didn't expect that scene with Elias and Barron - exactly the kind of dark themes I love!

Overall, this book was a really great read and sets the stage nicely for volume two for which I will be definitely looking forward to. If you like traditional fantasy tropes done well then definitely give this book a read and help support the author.

This book is confusing: not in a suspense or mystery way, in an AI way.

A human did not write this book, and from the amount of wrong words, grammar mistakes, and other errors it looks like there weren’t any humans who edited it very well either! The pacing is horrific, the dialogue is repetitive and nonsensical, and the ”overall plot” makes so little sense I’m not even sure it had one.

Some specifics in case you don’t believe me: pronouns and verb tenses are inconsistent, there are hardly any contractions (including in dialogue! Yes, it’s painful!), there are misspellings of both proper nouns and even regular words I’d expect to pop up on a spellchecker, and unintentionally comedic word choice errors (direct quote: “Close the gates, and let all who will arrive, gain entrée.”)

Reading is important to me, and I’ve loved books my whole life! Everything from literature and poetry to cheap smutty romance and fanfic! This is by far the worst thing I’ve ever read. It’s such an obvious low-effort AI ripoff that I’m genuinely offended.

If the author reads this review (and I hope he does! Maybe it’ll give him a sample of real human writing to aspire to in the future!) all I have to say to you is this: shame on you! marketing yourself as “dark fantasy” and trying to upsell trinkets that have nothing to do with your books at comic cons, you’re nothing more than a scam artist. Real writers could have been getting attention for their work instead, which makes you worse than useless. You’re a blight to society and a great example of the damage AI can do to art.

This series is FANTASTIC! I finished book one and couldn't run to my bedroom to grab and start book two fast enough! I binge-read the first two books in this series in about 24 hours. The third book took me a few days longer (because life). This book introduces us to the first two worlds in this story and the characters who the story will follow. This book is fast paced and full of creepy horror imagery that I could not get enough of!

The fun thing about this book is it's written with the character's storylines seemingly separate, and we get to see these dark and disastrous things happening to all of them in their own settings. Just as things seem like they can't get any darker for our groups of characters, the author begins weaving their storylines together piece by piece.

There are dark entities taking over worlds. From the highest of royalty to the poorest of commoners, nobody is safe. The worlds are being overrun by creatures called "The Cursed". When you are attacked by The Cursed you are instantly infected. There is no cure. Within minutes your transformation into one of The Cursed begins, and you become as thirsty for blood as the others. Realm after realm has been taken over by The Cursed, and those who manage to escape are left running with no place to hide.

This book is dark, creepy, fast paced, and downright vicious. Be prepared to jump straight into book two when you're done. Review to be continued on books two and three.

Alright, so this was an interesting, yet a bit confusing read. I spent a lot of it wondering what the heck was going on, but I did enjoy it. I don't know quite know how to describe it, it is a fantasy, and quite frankly I think there is a bit of horror mixed in, there are some scenes that to me, were pretty horrific with what happened.

I think I am going to give it four stars because it kept me hooked even when I felt confused about what was happening, and when I noticed some spots where editing could have been better. There were places where I was basically told the same thing in back to back sentences even if they were worded slightly differently. I really didn't need the information twice. there was another moment when I thought, but didn't that character leave the room? How are they still at the window?

**Now for the disclaimer. I came across Garris L.R. Coleman's booth at Rangerstop and Pop ATL last weekend. I purchased the bigger mystery box that included all three autographed volumes of Curse of Crowns along with some mystery goodies. The author was very nice, and my family and I enjoyed talking to him. That said, my thoughts and opinions about volume one are my own.

I really wanted to like this book, I really did, but I couldn't. Honestly, I couldn't even finish it. There were so many grammatical errors and the story was all over the place-it was hard to follow. I spent more time trying to flip back to try and piece the story together then I did going forward. Nothing made sense and although there was a lot of description, it was on the wrong things and took away from the story. I was at chapter 7 and ready to quit but then I read all the reviews on Goodreads... I can't believe they're reviewing the same book! I tried to read it again and only made it to chapter 12.

I love how the imagery gives me the same slightly fuzzy and foggy feelings as if I were reading a dream. I’m really enjoying how the different storylines are slowly coming together. Can’t wait to start book two!

This book is fantastic! The story takes place in three independent stories that tell us the consequences of a strange curse ... and the end ... THAT end. WOW! Totally unexpected and leaving you with honey on your lips.

It is true that the principle is somewhat slow because it puts us inside the true story but if you decide to give it a chance you will not regret it, it has everything: adventure, romance, fantasy ... it is the successor of Game of Thrones.
