Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth for Fulfillment and Abundance

Rate this book
What is the best answer to rising gas prices, plummeting stock and real estate values, and not enough income? Soul Currency presents an exciting new way to understand how we open to abundant flow and fulfillment by focusing on our inner wealth — traits such as integrity, generosity, imagination, love, and intuition. These often overlooked traits are part of our soul currency, a term that refers to both a medium for exchanging value (as with money) and the circulation of a divine force in our lives, a force that bridges the material world of finance and the invisible world of Spirit. When we tap into the creative force of this “currency,” our lives unfold in the direction that we most desire.

In this transformational book, Chu explains how to recognize and overcome the false and limiting beliefs — the “counterfeit currency” — that hold us back. He helps you to identify your personalized “adventureprise” — the life that incorporates the adventure of pursuing your soul’s loftiest dreams with the enterprise of realizing your grandest ambitions — and to connect to the stakeholders who directly and indirectly support you.

Chu writes from his own As a former member of the New York Stock Exchange and an entrepreneur, he took on over a million dollars in debt to avoid filing for bankruptcy when a start-up business failed. Expecting to work his entire life to pay back the debt, Chu followed the principles in this book and was able to resolve it within eighteen months.

When we finally learn to invest our spiritual capital without conditions, we build a life that brings not only material wealth but also fulfillment and a deep sense of purpose.

When creating our own personal balance sheet of assets, we generally look at tangible currency with set values such as cash, real estate, and stocks. Yes, this is what we have physically in the here and now but these things really say nothing about our ability to earn or create wealth and abundance. For this, we have to dig deeper. First, we have to look at our intangible currency such as education, training, special skills. Then, we have to look at our uncultivated, hidden, or ignored spiritual currency which includes higher personality traits, creativity, and intuition.

By looking only at the dollar line, we are limiting our potential. We’ve all had jobs that we took because of the money. The days were long and it took all the energy that we had just to get up each morning. Life began revolving around this job and the fear of losing the paycheck. There just never seemed to be enough time or energy to do anything else.

Soul Currency looks at work in a different way. Each day, we use our tangible, intangible, and spiritual currency but what we don’t often realize is that we have a choice on how this capital is used. We can either let it be drained away just trying to survive in a job that we hate or we can recognize our potential and open up to the possibilities.

It's a bit tedious and there's better books on the subject like 'Think and grow rich'. It seems to be targeted towards capitalists who aren't happy despite their material wealth but I know better books about spiritual growth too.
