The first in the Hot Enough firefighter series of stand-alone short story romance.
Misha helps at a house fire by taking the injured animals to her vet clinic, but she never expects Sawyer, the hunky firefighter, to come in the next day to check on them. When she turns him away, she really doesn't expect him to show up the following day with an appointment for a sick dog. How persistent will he be?
Barbra Campbell writes dirty-sweet romance because she gets a kick out of helping couples overcome problems as they fall in love, even if it’s her fault they have problems in the first place. After pursuing degrees in Genetics for nearly a decade, she realized the ‘chemistry’ of romance was a lot more fun to write about than the biochemistry of how our bodies work. She shared her stories with the world, was a finalist in a bunch of romance contests, and traded her lab coat for a laptop. All of this was done with her college sweetheart by her side. He helps her pursue the HEA on a daily basis, even when she has her mind on sexy book boyfriends and cover models. When Barbra’s not writing, she’s likely to be taking a walk, petting one or more of her many animals, or playing the cello! Visit BarbraCampbell.com for more.
A firefighter and a veterinarian fight to save a family of puppies who’ve been caught in a blazing fire. Only there’s more fires popping up between them as Sawyer and Misha circle each other in their sexy cat and mouse game. Hot stuff!
For a short story, this read is packed with all the feels. The title is perfect and captures the hero's efforts to woo the insecure, big-hearted vet. I especially loved the ending. I will absolutely be reading more of the author's work.
