Kristoff’s survived before and feels he’ll survive again. He was trained to elude the enemy even if it’s the man he loves, so Jeremiah is in for the fight of their lives. as far as second chance romances go this was extremely angsty and i loved every bit of it. i love when books make me feel things deeply and i love me some good hurt before the happiness comes — and this book was perfect for that. if you’re in the mood for some push and pull, lots of emotions and a romance that is worth the wait...i recommend this book.

Powerful second chance mates story with intrigue, passion and love.  I really have loved these powerful wolves, their characters were vital to the plots in previous books and was hoping for their story.  Knowing that Jeremiah was grieving for his lost mate helped me understand why he denied his new mate, but i was still unhappy with him.  Jeremiah does open his eyes and then he is all in on winning his mate and proving he is worth the risk.  Kristoff is just a terrific character that is self-aware. has a vulnerable heart , is a warrior and so beautifully complex.  You are immediately rooting for this couple.  The story was well written and the pacing was perfect.  The mystery was well done with a satisfying resolution.

Jeremiah and Kristoff  are just everything.  They are so intense, connected, passionate soul-mates and warriors.  Together they lead the pack and provide a vital balance.  You can feel their hearts ache and yearn in this story and i am so happy that they found each other finally.

This is the third  book of the Promises series and it could be read as a stand-alone, however the first books really give you so much more of the story-line arch that brings you to the beginning of this book.  I really loved the series and would recommend reading and enjoying each book.

I really enjoyed reading this outstanding MM shifter romance with a “second-chance” undertone. The plot is well-written & interesting with some very intense situations & it can be read as a standalone. The well-developed characters have complex personalities that are realistically flawed & react with believable emotional feelings. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a male beta (Kristoff) tired of being repeatedly rejected by his mate (a male widowed alpha, Jeremiah) decides leave the pack after a tragedy but then a enemy (Stefan) reappears & decisions will have to be made, wolf shifters, humans, intrigue, drama, some humor, suspense, adventure, action, a conniving villain, devious contemplation, threats, violence, conflict, memories, regrets, confrontations, stubbornness, defiance, determination, emotional turmoil, insecurities, distrust, vulnerability, a claiming, contentment, some steam & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion. I would recommend this second-chance MM shifter romance to people who enjoy reading this genre & look forward to future books from this author.

A tale of unrequited love. A person can only love someone so much before he realizes that the other person does not feel the same way towards him. The only thing you can do is leave in order not to get hurt any more.

Kristoff is living a life away from his former pack, and he has come to terms with it. But here comes his Alpha who has now realize that he does love his Beta.

I totally understand how Kristoff feels and why he did what he did, and although Jeremiah has been mourning his dead wife, he has been as stubborn as a mule also. He cannot see what was right in front of him. There is a saying that says you never realize how important something is until you lose it!

I love how this story was written, I didn’t have a hard time following the storyline.

Kristoff a beta wolf tired of being repeatedly rejected by his mate alpha Jeremiah so he decides leave the pack after some events happen to him and his nephews mate because he diesnt feel like he was fully engaged. Kristoff is just a terrific character, he has a vulnerable heart and is a warrior that is so beautifully complex.

Jeremiah was grieving for his late wife/mate when he first was introduced to Kristoff so it was understandable why he denied his new mate, but after years of almost stringing Kristoff along and giving a little and taking it back wasn't right. Jeremiah does open his eyes and starts winning his mate and proving he is worth the risk.

This was an enjoyable read, it had engaging characters and an wonderful storyline. I definitely recommend this book!

Took Jeremiah long enough to chase after Kristoff.

After almost losing his life and the life of his nephews mate, Kristoff feels like he no longer belongs to the pack. Yes hes still in love with the Alpha, but he doesnt believe anything will ever come of it as Jeremiah still grieves his deceased mate.
I dont believe Jeremiah thought Kristoff would leave, I honestly believe he thought Kristoff was getting his head together and would come back to them. The old adage you never know what youve lost until its gone, works here. After Kristoff left, Jeremiah realised all the times he hurt his mate. He knew it would take a lot to get him to return. But he never knew just how much damage he personally did to their possible relationship

~3.5 STARS~

The story line of Jeremiah and Kristoff was easy to follow. I liked how Kristoff wasn’t easily persuaded by Jeremiah and how he tried to protect his heart. I do think there was a bit too much reminiscing of the past for my taste though.

I was a bit disappointed that the story was about 93% about Jeremiah and Kristoff and that it only took a few pages to work out the reason for why Jeremiah went to find Kristoff.

Overall, I liked the story, but I really wished I would have read the first one before reading this one. I wasn’t completely lost, but it would have been nice to understand some of the references that were mentioned.

Well written descriptive storyline by Deja, the intensity of the story, mixed with the complexity of the characters meant I was hooked. At first I was frustrated with Jeremiah, Kristoff had so much soul, a huge heart I loved him from the beginning. The intimate scenes were passionately explosive, Deja masterfully drew out the eroticism, so hot.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I absolutely recommend this book and can’t wait for the next in this series.

Accepting His Mate . . .

Kristoff Dumanovsky is Alpha Jeremiah Tolliver’s beta. Kristoff has been waiting for years for Jeremiah to get over the death of his wife. When his distractions let something happen, Kristoff blames himself and decides to leave the Iroquois Pack.

But when an enemy from Kristoff’s past comes after him, Jeremiah wants him back home. However it might not be so easy now to convince him. Is Jeremiah finally ready to show his mate he is ready to accept him and that their bond is true? Or will Kristoff have given up and decide to move on?

3.5*

This second book is in my opinion a little more angsty than the first, in previous books I thought that Kristoff was icy and closed off, where as Jeremiah was strong and loving even when still grieving his wife, but even in the first 10% of the book, we find that Kristoff is in fact a sensitive wolf who feels guilty over being distracted, by the way Jeremiah has been pushing and pulling over the attraction between them, leaving him feeling as the only choice left was to leave. I get that to some degree Jeremiah is still grieving but his wife died many years before, so he has been a bit of a jerk to Kristoff and his feelings. I would have liked it more if Jeremiah had come for Kristoff before learning of the threat, rather than Kristoff being left feeling that the threat is the reason he came for him. Overall though this is a book in the series worth reading.

This book was ok. I felt like the Stefan storyline was just a flimsy plot device to bring Jeremiah to Kristoff in Charleston, then to bring them both home after there was nothing holding Kristoff there anymore. The resolution of that storyline was perfunctory and seemed like the aothor forgot about it until the last 5 minutes of the book.
Jeremiah and Kristoff were kind of sweet together, but the love scenes seemed like there was a lot of effort to make sure Kristoff still seemed uber masculine even though he was submitting to Jeremiah.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was interesting and flows very well. Kristoff leaves his pack because he thinks he puts them in danger. Plus his true love is the pack alpha and he is still mourning his dead wife. So it is easy leave and do his job as a very good assassin. Jeremiah is the pack alpha that lets Kristoff leave. But he tracks him when danger threatens Kristoff and offers to help him. Jeremiah also confesses his love for Kristoff. But Kristoff does not make it easy for him. But then the danger rears its head and the two men must work together to survive.

I haven’t read the other books in this series however, I was still able to follow everything in the book without any confusion.

Kristoff’s heart broke a little more every time his mate, Jeremiah rejected him. He walked away to save his heart because some things are not meant to be. The pain and sadness in Kristoff’s heart echoed through the pages.

Jeremiah had to earn his mate’s trust after everything he put him through. Jeremiah’s guilt weighed heavy on his heart and he didn’t deny that he wronged Kristoff.

Jeremiah and Kristoff’s bond grew stronger with each passing page. The hunger, passion and need burning on both ends intensified until it finally exploded. I enjoyed watching these two mend their broken bridges.

A few interesting characters but my favourite was Kristoff’s naughty, elderly neighbour - who told him that she had condoms in his drawer.

I thought Broken Promises was a great book. I liked the werewolves in this story and how they live for a long time. I was expecting kids, not grandchildren, but that was ok. I think I got into the series in the middle and I didn’t have a problem enjoying and reading this book. It was an interesting romance and I thought it developed neatly. I loved their romance, Kristoff and Jeremiah definitely had sparks and I loved how they figured it all out. I would recommend this book.

Emotionally compelling second chance romance.
I was really angry with Jeremiah for a majority of the book.
I realize he was grieving but it felt as though he took too long to acknowledge the pull between him and Kristoff and it was almost too late.
Jeremiah had to work doubly hard to regain Kristoff's trust because he feared being rejected and abandoned again.
There was also an element of danger in the form of a threat against Kristoff and plenty of drama within the pack.

I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!! It was AMAZING!!!! I loved every single character and how the story progressed. I loved how Jeremiah finally realised how much he needed Kristoff and never gave up getting him back. I could feel every single emotion from the characters. No matter what happened they stuck together and got their HEA. The intimacy between them was SEXY & HOT. I could not stop reading. I can not wait to see what happens next. Deja Black well done on an amazing book.

Broken Promises follows the story of Kristoff and Stefan. The book is an mm paranormal romance with a lot of angst and second chances romance. Overall it was an ok read, but needs some attention at times to make it a better read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kristoff is not only the Beta for the Tolliver pack but he is also Peter's uncle. To add to that, he has been in love with the alpha, Jeremiah for years. Jeremiah has ignored that Kristoff is his mate until Kristoff leaves and Jeremiah realizes exactly what he is letting go. As these two come together, an enemy comes forward that is determined to destroy them.

He is a beta and has loved his alpha for ages but he knows they are still grieving the loss of their wife. After a while he decides to leave hoping it may help. A threat is coming and it may be the right thing to bring them together. What is the threat? Will they become a couple? Will they overcome the threat? See just how they get on

Kristoff is Jeremiah's beta. They have been circling each other but Jeremiah can't seem to let go of his dead wife. Kristoff feels he has no choice but to leave the pack. Someone evil is after Kristoff so Jeremiah comes to bring him home. home. I really enjoyed this book.

A really great use of a detective character and a fated mate in a paranormal story. Remi and Peter have an amazing, instant connection and the idea of Peter needing Remi emotionally/physically for balance and for protection from the coven was a really interesting plot device.

I really loved this book. Although it seemed a little rushed and the fight scene wasn't much it was still very good. These two guys were just so great together and the chemistry was off the charts. I can't wait for more in this series.

3.5 stars. My heart broke for Kristoff every time Jeremiah rejected him. My biggest issue was, Jeremiah didn't come for Kristoff until he found out that Stefan was released from jail. I would rather have had him come for Kristoff prior to finding out about Stefan. Also, I would have had Jeremiah gravel a little more. But finally Jeremiah figures out that he doesn't have to forget the mate that died, he figures out that his heart is big enough to love again. And Stefan getting what was deserved was a little anticlimatic. He's there & then boom it's handled. Otherwise, I did enjoy the story & watching these two finally coming together and allowing the second chance at love.
