Some of these interpretations regarding relationships immediately made sense to me. Some took a bit of pondering for me to understand. Still, others just had me squinting at the page and wondering. As with any text on Tarot, this book provides another valuable point of view, enriching my knowledge of the craft.

L’autrice afferma che si tratta di un libro che possa essere di aiuto ai principianti, ma io ritengo che risulti di maggior beneficio a chi sia studente intermedio o avanzato: tutte le descrizioni che offre, infatti, sono immediate, senza apparente derivazione dai significati centrali delle carte. Scrivo “apparente” perché in realtà la derivazione c’è eccome, ma può non risultare ovvia ai principianti, che si ritroverebbero così a dover fare un ulteriore sforzo mnemonico anziché farne uno, assai più proficuo, di ragionamento.
A ogni singola carta è dedicata una singola pagina, che risulta più che sufficiente: oltre a indicazioni generali in tema con il titolo del libro, ne offre di ulteriori per carte estratte sia al dritto sia al rovescio.
Nel complesso è un libro piccolo e concentrato che offre delle chicche.
La nota dolente sono le stese presentate, che risultano un po’ asfittiche e di non chissà quale aiuto per i consultanti, ma possono comunque offrire degli spunti su cui lavorare e, con le dovute modifiche, risultare alla fine preziose.
Merita menzione, infine, la scelta dell’autrice di trattare _tutto_ al maschile, perfino quando parla della Papessa, dell’Imperatrice e delle quattro Regine: in controtendenza, insomma, con quanto si ritrova nei testi degli ultimi anni senza che la cosa infici la comprensione del testo, anzi facilitandola e rendendola più scorrevole.
