This is a less coherent entry in the crime series; there were some rather random sidebars and I didn't feel that the setting and context for the crime were solidly defined. But it turns out that I knew almost nothing about the Manson crimes so I did get a lot of new information and I feel more educated now. A lot of Helter Skelter references make a lot more sense now.

I finally noticed that a lot of the missing stuff in the backmatter of the ecopys is there, just invisible (white text on white background) so I'm pretty sure it's just a glitch of the review copy.

I received an ecopy of this book from the publisher.

A book that gave a decent overview on the family and the court proceedings. However, there was no nearly enough detail compared to what there could be. With the Manson Family murders being such an interesting topic, I was disappointed with how many details this lacked. It talked about the actual murders for a lot less than they shouldve. Ill be avoiding this book series from now on and search for books with more detail.

I read this book for one of my classes as a research project and reading this books was sad as well as shocking. It is so shocking that someone can do these things and have no remorse.

I really wish this had been published more recently, because I am dying to hear what’s been going on with Leslie van Houston since she was shockingly paroled after all this time.
