Bungalow Basics: Porches

Rate this book
Bungalows of the early twentieth century were pleasantly small, well designed, and affordable. The same can be said of Pomegranate's Bungalow Basics books. Each book in the series spotlights a different aspect of bungalows, those charming and efficient homes that came to epitomize the Arts and Crafts style in American residences. Douglas Keister's photographs capture the results of meticulous restorations, while Paul Duchscherer's text provides concise information about bungalow design and history. Titles in the Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Dining Rooms, Doors, Fireplaces, Kitchens, Living Rooms, and Porches.

I got this book out when I was thinking about the Market St. house and renovating each room to have more built ins. This series has a streamline approach to the bungalow style. There is a historical perspective, there are famous bungalows pictured, and there are great ideas for remodeling an older home for maximizing the use of a small amount of space.
