Young Lionz

Rate this book
Ghetto girls birth ‘em. Hood rats love ‘em. Society fears ‘em. Police target ‘em. And the penitentiary welcomes ‘em. From the coochie to the casket, this troublemaking band of misfits wreaks havoc on the community. They are loyal to no one but themselves and not even death can scare them. They are untamed, untrained, and worst of all, unchained. They run through the city with reckless abandon and perform unspeakable acts of random terror on innocent, law-abiding citizens. They are the definition of troublemakers. They are Youn Lionz.

Antwan, the ringleader, is a twenty-year-old malcontent with big dreams and small money. Ever the optimist, Antwan won’t stop reaching for the moon until he’s touched the stars. Temp, his fiery, quick-tempered partner can’t seem to keep it in his pants, and because of it, the majority of his money goes toward paying for abortions. Bishop is the only member of the crew to be employed on any level, albeit part time. He likes being part of the crew but is getting increasingly tired of some of their antics. When a tragic turn of events leaves him holding a smoking gun, his loyalty to his crew is severely tested. Niko has his own set of problems. Hanging out with his comrades provides him with his own personal fortress of solitude, far away from the pain of his abusive mother. Chris is the quiet one of the crew. He doesn t say much, but he’s always down to put in work. Guard ya grills . . . the Young Lionz are on the loose.

Five Stars

The book over all gets Five Stars with out a doubt. I do however wish there was a second book or a couple of extra chapters. I wanted to know what happened with Bishop at the police station did he tell on Temp. Did Niko and Chris pull through, is Chris paralyzed? Did Temp and Antwan find the guys that shot Chris? I want to if Niko pulls through will him and his mom be able to repair their relationship? Is Niko and Regina going to be able to be together? Will it be a part 2 for Young Lionz?

Young Lionz, Young Lionz. As I just admit this book started a bit slow with all the character and introductions but I must say it all came together. The book was based on five friends that's on the come up in the hood. I will say that even though all five friends were close they were all different. All the young lionz have personal issues and an separate home life that ultimately brings them together to make money. I didn't really know what to expect from this book due to this being my first book from this author, But I must admit I really liked the book. You can def tell the book was a build up for another book or possibly a series. The ending of the book had me shook Lets just say I need book two like yesterday!

All of the young lionz had a lot you g on in their lives. I liked Bishop because no matter he tried to be a up standing person and not do people wrong. Temp is just working on everything with no concern for any one but himself, I'm glad Cynthia didn't get a abortion and decided to raise her son. Chris had me in my feelings trying to help his mom and sister, hopefully he will not be paralyzed for the rest of his life. Antwan was wrong for messing with Rhonda and her getting caught giving him head had me SMH because she knew Mario was still around the house. I'm glad Niko and Regina cousin got revenge for her because Ricky was grimy for the things he did to Regina. Good story and well written.
