I very much enjoyed Osbert Sitwell's essays - he writes evocatively, informatively and with a sparkling wit (expect a dry sense of humour). 'Queen Mary' is the longest essay and full of anecdotes; 'A Bunch of Snowdrops', though short, paints a picture of Sitwell's early Christmas experiences; 'New York in the Twenties' and 'London 1943' are marvellous descriptions of those eras (and in the case of the essay on London, of past eras too). A charming collection.
