If Romeo had wings and Juliet a barbed tail, could they find happiness in the City of Angels? After their escape from the ashes of Lost Angels, the succubus Lorelei and the angel Azaziel want nothing more than to enjoy each other's company. Unfortunately, Asmodeus, the Demon Prince of LA, has threatened to devour Lorelei's new-grown soul if she doesn't bring about Azaziel's downfall. Meanwhile, Aza is keeping secrets of his own that threaten the tenuous peace between Heaven and Hell. Three archangels come to town to try to set things right, but friendships are fracturing. The demon in charge of fallen angels is sniffing around. And Los Angeles is about to be caught between a devil and the deep blue sea.
The Good Guys are bad. The Bad Guys are good. Characters with complex morality make this book a rich and randy read. Angels and demons--sexy and dangerous--keep the pages turning. I loved Lorelei most of all. She's a succubus who uses her sex partners for energy, but at the same time, she is extremely sympathetic. The story progresses on various levels, including personal and political. The authors' version of Heaven and Hell was fascinating and made it easy for them to surprise me with plot twists. Mostly, it's an intimate journey through the relationships of the characters with danger, suspense, and drama generously spread throughout to keep the tension levels high.
First I would like to state that I have received this book through goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. When I received this book I began reading it at once. This book was a very interesting read. It pulls you in and keeps you wanting more. I would recommend this book to others. It is a very good read
Angelus Rose is a lot like Lost Angels. Lorelei making more enemies when she needs friends. Azaziel living in the gray area and acting a tad bit selfish for an angel. Both of them trying to decide if their love is worth it. Or if they could even go back from the trouble they have caused. If you like Lost Angels your going to like Angelus Rose.
What stood out to me was the battle scene. Battle scenes are not my favorite to read. I like them, but I love to read the politics, witty dialog between characters, backstabbing plays, romance. Battle scenes I usually read as fast as I can to find out the outcome.
But in Angelus Rose, the battle scene kept me interested! Very few do. I loved how it switches from character to character. Didn’t drag out each scene too long for tension build-up. You got to read each character triumph or perish without getting overwhelmed. The cake topper was right after the battle! I won’t spoil it for you.
The story of lovers from opposite worlds continues. Their respective peers and enemies continue to push and pull them. There are a couple of nice twists but I won't spoil them here. I definitely enjoyed this book.
