The original Telugu version Arogyame Anandam was written by Manthena Satyanarayana Raju and this is translated into English by Madduri Rajya Sri. Less than one-third of the book is about Naturopathy and its benefits while the other bulk of the book is compilation of testaments by various people who followed this life style.
The crux of Naturopathy is to follow a daily routine of drinking 5-6 litres of water, doing yoga or exercise, avoiding salt and non-veg completely, eating fruits, sprouts, unpolished rice with raw or cooked vegetables without any oil and masalas, eating dinner by 7pm and fasting now and then. This routine is seemingly healthy and I am really tempted to try. However, this book makes tall claims of curing various ailments and provides testaments by people who have been cured of various illness ranging from dandruff, cold, headache to diabetes, hypertension, spondylitis, bronchitis etc. The point is to show that the nature of food we eat is the cause or cure of all the health problems in our bodies.
Anyway, I have officially become an average Indian uncle by reading this book.
