A beautiful and informative work that is a feast for the eyes and the imagination. I learned so much about placement of objects and composition of pieces from this book. Thank you Helen Stevens.

Ms. Stevens is a true artist. Her embroidery is far beyond anything that hobbyists like me could ever hope to achieve. Yet she manages to to describe her techniques so clearly, and with such excellent examples (displayed in gorgeous, colorful photos), that she inspires me to at least try to emulate her work.

In this book, Stevens also shares fascinating information on the history of embroidery, particularly in the UK.
