We all know that during class sometimes it is hard to be concentrated and keep being interested if there too much stuff happening or little that leads us to be disengaged. Do you want to help your students improve their listening skills, to save time preparing classes and add some variety to them? Then this is the right book!
Jackie Bolen teaches us on how to create engaging and interesting classes so that the students won’t feel bored by listening to them. With ESL Listening Activities for Teenagers and Adults: Practical Ideas for English Listening for the Classroom I have learned what a teacher might be doing wrong and also how to prepare classes so that we are not only reading trough the textbook.
Jackie has a proven experience in this area, so you will feel at ease with her trustworthy and deep explanations that aim to help the reader to solve his daily issues. Get ready, because this book is an excellent guide and I am sure that you will be able to teach without feeling that your students are not listening to you. ‘’ With time, I found that I liked teaching listening far more than I did conversation and speaking.’
You will be able to read descriptive examples and do exercises to help understand these concepts and skill. I enjoyed how the author keeps encouraging us to move on and be positive. Negative words attract negativity, so let us cut those words from our vocabulary! It is breath of fresh air!
