Interesting survey of the development of the American PECUSA episcopate. An older study, which doesn't reflect scholarship of the last 50 years, but surveys the development from the early years of the American colonies, the period immediately before the American revolution, and then the development of the constitution of the PECUSA, and the ordination of the first American PECUSA bishops. Pays particular attention to the politics in England which prevented the earlier institution of the American episcopate.
