Safeguarding Liberty: The Constitution and Citizens Militias

Rate this book
This collection of essays edited by Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America focuses on the real issues concerning the 2nd Amendment and the militia: first, that the Constitution guarantees individual citizens to join together to protect life and property apart from the government, and second, the fact that people -- not guns -- kill people. Social commentator Walter Williams stated that: "Among our God-given rights is the right of self-defense. The Founders knew this well and charged Congress, through the Second Amendment, to protect (not grant) that right. Safeguarding Liberty reminds us of that; plus, if America is to remain free, we must not compromise with those who would strip us of our right to keep and bear arms."

Great book dealing with the historical basis for the 2nd amendment and how it primarily is for defense of free citizens and has little to nothing to do with hunting. Highly recommend!
