This book seems like a fine lift-the-flap at first, but when paired with the What is Daddy Going to Do version there is a glaring mistake. This mommy book has mom doing 1 fun thing with the kids, 4 tasks (cooking, laundry, work outside the home, and repairing a swing), and 5 minutes of well earned rest at the end. The dad book has dad doing 6 fun things with the kids. It seems like Dad might be about to chip in with a strainer and a pan, but it turns out he is just playing astronaut and drums. Mom is the one who is actually cooking, cleaning and running off to work in her business suti. A great visual of how women continue to carry the invisible load of work inside and outside the home - while barely having enough time to repair themselves. Not the message I'd like to be sending to kids though!

I was sent an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a cute and simple book for toddlers about things a Mummy does and what they mean, but they may not always mean what they think it'll mean as mummys can be fun with chores too.
The last scenario gives the child a hint as to mummy sometimes needs 5 minutes to herself.

Review to be added to Amazon US and UK on 25th February 2020 - publication day!

I liked the idea behind this book as my daughter is two and a half and follows me everywhere I go, and I liked the ending but I still don't think she would get the hint! I liked the images and that the pages would open as a flap book too - that is a nice touch but not one that we would read over and over in our house as we do with some books. 3 stars from me.

This is a sweet book that documents what Mommies do. They are busy with life: cooking, going off to work, repairing broken things, and doing stacks of dirty laundry, just to name a few. Mommies also love to act silly sometimes like when they done a lion's mask and roar at the top of their lungs. They love to take some time out of their busyness to reboot with a hot drink and a good book... five minutes peace is always a welcome timeout for busy Mommies.

Each spread has a sturdy flap that little ones can flip open and discover the answer to "What is Mommy going to do?" if they having trouble guessing what action Mommy may be taking.

The flip-up-flaps help to aid hand-eye co-ordination and a question on each page prompts conversation between parent and child. This bright, engaging board book is the perfect exploration of the activities that make up a parent and toddler’s day. A fun book for that inquisitive age group and highly recommended.

Thank you to netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Boy, can I ever relate to this book. A super simple book about some fun aspects motherhood. Mountains of laundry, a hot cup of coffee and silly escapades. A flip book of fun. Vibrant pictures and simple language make this book fun for younger children.

This is a cute book to read with kids, getting them to guess what Mommy might do next (and sometimes unexpected!). But, this is not a book I could see myself reading to my young daughters more than once or twice. Cute pictures but would be nice if it had more. Either more sounds, more actions, or more guessing on what Mommy is going to do.

This book was given to me an an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

This is a cute board book for toddlers about a person who is so important, mommy.  What does she do all day?  Lift the flaps to find out.  Sometimes the answer will be a bit whimsical as when mommy has lots of laundry to do.  With bright and appealing illustrations, this title should be enjoyed by the youngest book lovers.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

Carrying on from the 'What is Baby going to do'. Another book that will stimulate little minds and will engage imagination and creativity. Perfect for adult and youngsters to develop skills and spend time together.
East to read, colourful book.
