I don’t have Celiac Disease but eat Gluten Free due to an Auto Immune Disease. This book has some wonderful information in it. I love the breakdown of list that is considered safe for eating. It also has a list of items that can be gluten free but you need to check labels. I don’t usually associate gluten with non-food items like my hairspray, makeup, toothpaste, and other items with gluten. The list had me checking my products and yep several of them had gluten.
The book explains Celiac Disease and some symptoms of it. It covers things like eating out and what to do if you accidentally consume gluten.
The recipes start out with some essential gluten free recipes like flour blends. The recipes are broken down by meals. The recipes are nothing fancy and the ingredients can be found at your local grocery of health food store. The recipes also tell you if they are vegetarian, dairy-free, 30-Minute recipes, and a few other items.
I’ve enjoyed trying the a few of the recipes.
I received a copy of this product from Callisto Publisher's in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review.

I do not have Celiac Disease but I know a couple people who do, so I thought this would be a good addition to my book collection. This book has two parts, the first part being an introduction and discussing what celiac is, gluten proofing your home and how to have a happy healthy gluten free plan. The second part consists of seven chapters full of tasty recipes. Starting with The gluten free essentials, which include “Jamie’s All-Purpose Flour Blend” along with essential sandwich rolls, pie crust and pizza crust. After that you have Breakfast, Soups, Salads & Sides, Meatless Mains, Fish & Seafood, Poultry & Meat and then of course Dessert. Each recipe has a key at the top telling you if it is dairy-free or vegetarian, it also says if it is a 30-minute recipe or a 5-ingredient recipe. This book would be great for those who are learning to live with Celiac Disease.
I received a free copy of this product from Callisto Publishers in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

A decent read for someone who needs a place to start. But don’t end here, keep researching.
Personally, I learned nothing from this book. All of the information found here can be found on google or the celiac website.
There are some recipes that sounded interesting to me I plan to try. But I would not call this book a “diet plan”. It only includes two weeks, much of which includes eating the left overs.
It also doesn’t seem very kid friendly, (although this author is the mother of a child with celiac,) so if that is a need for your family, keep looking.
I am concerned that cheerios were mentioned as safe. While cheerios claim to be gluten free, some celiacs have an issue with them.
Also, mushrooms were mentioned… CELIACS BEWARE!! Wild mushrooms are naturally gluten free and safe to eat. BUT farmed mushrooms are not always safe. They are grown in blocks made of organic materials, which include wheat bran. This contaminates the mushrooms with gluten.
Definitely continuing my book search.

What I liked: There is good information on dealing with celiac issues and, at the back, a really nice list of what to avoid. Not many people realize you also have to watch out for things like makeup, shampoos, and more but this book does. There’s also good info on cross-contamination, both in the home and when out, delicious recipes (especially the turkey burgers) and I really appreciated the calorie/fat/protein/etc. stats included with the recipes. Not many cookbooks do that.
What I didn’t like: and this is purely personal, but a lot of the recipes seemed to have peppers/paprika in them—something I’m allergic to. So yes, it’s personal. I’d have appreciated some more…less spicy ones.
Recommendation: If you’re just starting out on this journey—or even if you’ve been on it for a while as I have—this is a good basic book to add to your gluten free library. Definitely recommended.
Thanks to the publisher for providing this book.

A dear friend of mine has Celiac Disease and has to be so careful what she eats. This book will certainly help her stock her pantry and provide lots of quick and simple go-to recipes.
The book opens with an introduction of what Celiac Disease is, how it affects the body, why it can be so difficult to diagnose, and other conditions associated with this condition--such as anemia, osteoporosis, and migraines.
Other helpful sections are on Gluten-proofing your home and a 2-week get-started gluten-free meal plan (if you've been newly diagnosed.
The larger part of the book is filled with easy gluten-free recipes, which will be invaluable for my friend, because some store-bought gluten-free foods are less than desirable.
The food illustrations are enticing and inspiring. I just wish there were more of them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.

A really good book for people who want recipes for gluten-free and to also gluten-proof kitchens which I don’t know how many people think about. The book also goes into the symptoms and different conditions of the disease and I felt like part of it also helps you talk to your doctor about what test should be run. I would take the book in if you own a copy, but maybe more doctors are up on these symptoms now. I found everything about this book helpful and useful a really good book.

Very basic
I liked the way the book started out but I felt like it was very basic and was mostly a recipe book and heavy on carbs.
