One little girl knows that our world is whole because the connections between us all makes it so--from the family cat to the chatty neighbor to Mom and Dad and cousin Jerry. Our World is Whole is a lyrical meditation on mindfulness that celebrates interconnectedness and the ways we support one another and keep our world whole and spinning.

This book borrows a child's perspective on the different, seemingly disconnected aspects of our lives, to bring the pieces together in a satisfying and comforting way. With a light touch and wonderful lilting language, the author creates connections between everyday events and people, known and unknown, close and distant. The lovely illustrations enhance the airy yet colorful feel of the book. The message is delightful. This will be my new "go to" gift for pre-schoolers. Love it!!
This book had potential, and it just didn't hit the mark.
Overall, it's not a bad book, but I think it doesn't have the kind of action and story to keep little ones as engaged as it could. It felt like it was deeply missing something and without it, the whole story fell short.
It has a cute message I suppose, but it's not enough to keep it from being a "meh" book. If you want a simple story about how we are all connected, this might be for you, but otherwise...well, you might turn to something a little more depth.
