Cybersex: The Dark Side of the Force

Rate this book
This groundbreaking examination of cybersex was originally published as a special issue of the journal Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity. It is a crucial resource for sex therapists, who until now had no rigorous study of the effect of online pornography on the patients they treat. It will also be of great interest to general marriage and family therapists who find themselves dealing with this issue with their clients, as well as others who are interested in the Internet as a social phenomenon. The Dark Side of the Force presents for the first time an empirical foundation for the discussion of cybersex compulsivity and its effect on the mental health of individuals, couples, teens, and young children.

I have extensively referred this book for my upcoming book tentatively titled on Selfie Sex: Politics of Sexuality in the Digital Age. I have referred this book for a chapter on 'pornification' in my upcoming book. It is a relevant book on all those who are interested in studying the interplay between techno sex and addiction. it deals with porn addiction, it is a must read for all those interested on the social science of sex and technology. more over, Al Cooper one of the pioneers of sexuality studies particularly with reference to technology, i have special respect for this author. Author views there are darker shades to technology embedded sexuality particularly the addiction following cyber sex is quite difficult to overcome. I got it from a library. A must read book.
