History of Silence

Rate this book
What does a hard-nosed detective, a flying hooker, naked dwarfs, a screwy ladies' room, and a smart-mouth attorney have in common? Seemingly nothing, but they all come together quite insanely in this sometimes quirky, sometimes tragic, always sexy, disjointed tale of love and betrayal. Sylus is the detective with a penchant for cracking skulls. Cashmere is the girl-turned-woman from his past destined to bring him to his knees. He broke her heart once. She'll be damned if she lets him do it again...no matter what that fragile organ tells her.

A book with everything romance, drama, suspense.... A gripping story from beginning to end.

I received this book a while back from the author and just got around to reading it. Let me tell you I could not put it down. From the very start when Cashmere stepped in that precinct as the new district attorney and Sylus couldn't as we say in Trinidad "catch himself." I knew immediately I wanted to know why.

This book in my opinion was about secrets and why secrets could really be dangerous. Like the secret Cashmere's mom Mona kept from her daughters that impacted Cashmere's entire life and her relationships. Sam's, whose secret had fatal implications and of course we cannot forget Sylus. The author did a fantastic job with the storyline making the characters and the story believable and entertaining.

I absolutely loved the ending, Sylus' speech I would call it ….

I tell you if you are the emotional type it would bring you to tears.

All in all I loved this story...….

I enjoyed this novel. It was my first read by the author. The romance between Sylus and Cashmere was a fun ride. The author did a good job of making the chemistry believable. I chuckled. I cheered and was left satisfied. The story moved very well and was executed very well. The overall theme for me in this book was one of family and friendship.

MY THOUGHTS:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Well was I ever surprised by this book. It’s big and not really set up properly but I decided to treat it as an ARC and excuse the layout. With that aside, I began plunging my way into this self-published book that was almost 500 pages.

The characters are brilliantly written, well-rounded, developed properly as the story progressed. The tension between Sy and Cash is tangible and entertaining. The story-line cleverly plotted and realistic. It flowed steadily and smoothly building to it’s enjoyable end. I am surprised that I liked this romance–yep, me, the romance genre non-liker. 🙂

A great author voice throughout, a strong talented writer and excellent feels for family, friendship and setting records straight. Realistic and charming too!

Love and Redemption

I thoroughly enjoyed Cash and Sylus’ story one that’s more than just a romance. It’s about family, first love, betrayal, and redemption. There’s also a love story that transcends the passage of time and heartbreak, and that’s what makes this book really special to me.

Cashmere and Sylus are such well-thought-out characters with a network of family and friends who make their story even more special.
