Based on the most recent standards from ASHRAE, the sixth edition provides complete and up-to-date coverage of all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The latest load calculation procedures, indoor air quality procedures, and issues related to ozone depletion are covered. New to this edition is the inclusion of additional realistic, interactive and in-depth examples available on the book website (www.wiley.com/college/mcquiston) that enable students to simulate various scenarios to apply concepts from the text. Also integrated throughout the text are numerous worked examples that clearly show students how to apply the concepts in realistic scenarios. The sixth edition has also been revised to be more accessible to students for easier comprehension.Suitable for one or two semester, Junior/Senior/Graduate course in HVAC taught in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Technology departments.
I'm studying this book in one of my courses in mechanical engineering. The major problem we faced was the book concentrates on the conditions in United States. Lots of the equations and information gave the impression that the book was prepared for American engineers or users. Some of the examples aren't clear or have missing information. Adding to that, the spreadsheet that attached to calculate the cooling load was prepared to solve only ex18.16 regardless the different condition other than the example. Also the attached software (THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE) doesn't work well with Windows 7 and the software shuts down suddenly, without any notice. There's example in ch12 has a very simple mathematical mistakes (those are the ones I came across I don't know if there's more) and some examples in the same chapter when the writer tried to solve the problem with IP and SI both, he gave way different steps and procedures and both are conflicting each other and some of the steps are totally unreasonable, not to mention the amount of mistakes of taking the values from the tables I studied 9 chapters out of 15 and it was totally not good experience except some chapters like 2 4 and 15. There are some interesting topics My professor told me that he tried to contact the writer, unfortunately no response However, they have an excellent customer service in the website, I had some troubles regarding the code and they were very cooperative.
