A beautifully written children’s book exploring consent around hugs and other contact without being heavy handed. The illustrations are equally beautiful and make this a lovely bedtime read for our daughter!

A Hug is like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s day.
Family & friends hug each other when they haven’t seen each other for a while.
A hug can mean lots of things.
If someone who is sad, or someone has just accomplished something both deserve hugs.
Can you think of others reasons you might need a hug?

An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (elementary; MS age) educational friendship storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s friendship movie, a classroom presentation, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

Give Yourself A Hug
Here is the most exciting book on good hugs and bad hugs. Little ones need to know that it's okay not to hug everyone and sometimes it's not appropriate. I highly recommend this book. The illustrations are beautiful and also like a warm blanket.

A self-published book about body-autonomy and consent for kids. Unfortunately this book is a great example of why many libraries do not purchase self-published materials. The story starts off well enough but the author decides in the middle of the book to try to attempt to make it rhyme. Pro tip: if you are going to write a story that rhymes, make sure the entire story rhymes. This attempt is clunky, out of rhythm and has no pattern.
The idea of body autonomy is conveyed, but poorly. This book is sorely in need of an editor. However the illustrations are sweet.

A very subtle, age appropriate book about consent. It only talks about hugs.
