'रायबरेली रोमांस' एक अंतरजातीय प्रेम कहानी है। कभी पड़ोसी रहे सोनम और रघु को रायबरेली फिर से मिलवाता है और फिर वही होता है जो ऐसे मौके का दस्तूर भी है और कहानी की माँग भी, बिलकुल सच्चा वाला प्यार और उसके बाद तगड़ा वाला ब्रेक-अप। गुड्डू की दोस्ती, जातिवाद का असर, पतंगबाजी, क्रिकेट मैच, कोर्ट रूम, रायबरेली और रोमांस। कसम से कहानी पूरी फ़िल्मी है और बहुत मज़ा आने वाला है।

Intercaste marriages are always seen by general public in dull light. People raise their eyebrows when two people belonging to different castes decide to marry. This book does well in weaving a tale around this taboo of society.
Raghu and Sonam were neighbours in their childhood but his family shifts places. After more than half a dozen years Sonam visits Raebareli where Raghu now stays and he is immediately smitten by her. Luckily for him even Sonam reciprocates the same feelings and there begins an engaging love story befuddled by rigid belief systems.
The tale is crafted intricately. The cover though attractive doesn't relate to the theme of the story much. Narration is average . Characterization is good. Dint like the overdose of urdu shayaris throughout the novel. The way people still have such a narrow mindset towards most of the things in general and marriages in particular is very well presented.
All in all ,a nice book to showcase how the mentality of people become such a big hindrance in the life of two individuals deeply in love with each other.

By book title you can easily guess story is based in Raibareilly city of U. P.
It's a Love story of Raghu and Sonam their inter Caste relationship and it's consequences .so its a light and entertaining read.

" रायबरेली रोमांस " किताब लेखक " सरस आज़ाद " द्वारा लिखी गई है , और जैसा कि किताब के नाम से ही पता लगता है , romance Genre में fit होती है.
अपनी किताब के माध्यम से अंतर्जातीय विवाह पर समाज और परिवार की असहमति जिसे भारतीय समाज की कुरूती के रूप में देखा जाता है , पर प्रकाश डालने का लेखक का एक सफल प्रयास है !!
रघु और सोनम के परिवार लालगंज में पड़ोसी थे , पर 7 साल पहले रघु का परिवार लालगंज से रायबरेली शिफ्ट हो गया था ।
सोनम और रघु बचपन में एक दूसरे के बस पड़ोसी थे , एक दूसरे के दोस्त नहीं थे , पर जबकि अब दोनों 7 साल बाद मिले हैं , रघु सोनम को देखते ही उसे पसंद करने लगता है.
आगे वें दोनों दोस्त बनते है, और दोस्ती प्यार में बदल जाती है और दोनों शादी का फैसला करते हैं.
पर रघु जो कि एक दलित कुल से है और सोनम क्षत्रिय कुल से , उन दोनों के परिवार और समाज को ये रिश्ता कभी मंजूर होगा ...... बिल्कुल नहीं !!

‘Raebareli Romance’ by Saras Azad is a book that revolves around Raghu and Sonam. Raghu and Sonam used to be neighbours but they had never interacted much. Now almost after 7 years there’s a call from Sonam’s mother as Sonam has an exam to attend which is being held in Raebareli and she is requesting him to pick her up as the venue of exam is near to his place. When Raghu meets Sonam for the time after so many years he is head over heels for her. Soon, they both confess their feelings for each other and they thought everything will be fine. But little did they know their caste and the society will be the biggest barrier of their love. Will Sonam and Raghu overcome the hurdles that are about to come before them? Can they convince the society and break this caste system? To know more read ‘Raebareli Romance’.
My Thoughts:
The plot is well written and revolves around what we get to experience even today. People are still following all these caste, creed and religion blindly and for this they can go up to any end. This has been explained aptly by the author through this story.
The characters are well developed. I liked that the author has given us a peep in the past of the characters which makes the characters more relatable. I must say that both the characters were strong and fought for their love.
Language is simple and lucid so people who are looking forward to start reading Hindi books can definitely start with this book.
The cover page and the title of the book is apt to the plot.
Overall, it was an interesting read and I would surely recommend this book to all.

कहानी में लेखक ने एक पंक्ति लिखी है "कि आरक्षण होना जरूरी है परंतु जाति के आधार पर नहीं अपितु आर्थिक स्थिति के आधार पर। " यह बात सही है। यह कहानी अंतरजातीय प्रेम पर आधारित है भगवान ने सब को एक समान बनाया है पर मनुष्य को अलग-अलग जातियों में खुद मनुष्य ने ही बांटा है । जब भगवान ने हीं अंतर नहीं किया इंसान को भी यह अंतर नहीं करना चाहिए।

Raibareli Romance is like a full on Bollywood masala entertainment. The story revolves around our two lovebirds Raghu and Sonam. They fall in love with each other and want to spend their lives together. But there's one problem~ their caste difference. Raghu is dalit whereas Sonam is kshatriya. Apart from this there's family drama, violence, court case, cricket and friendship.
This was a short entertaining read. The book is written in hindi and the dialogues are somewhat funny which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Without Giving much away let me tell you what's my thought after reading this tale!
What I liked
Writing: The writing of the book is pretty fast-paced!! I managed to finish this book in a total of 3.5 hours of reading! Thus winning a point in favour of book!
Story: I liked the Story. Even though it does not contain anything surprising or any new nuance to it! but still, you tend to develop a sense of curiosity for the characters. Thus One more point in favour!
The best part I liked about the book was it didn't go any overboard dramatic!! The story was very much practical and the portrayal of the characters was also as natural as it had to be!! Thus one more point in favour!
What I Didn't like!!
Character Development: This was missing in the entire book! Even the main lead was not developed, Hence that affection which we need to feel for the characters had didn't happen. Thus a point against the book.
Narration: Even though it was very fast-paced, but still the essence of storytelling was missing!! And the biggest turn of for me was, throughout the book, there were some lines in Hindi, and the English translation of the same was missing, Now, I understand Hindi hence for me it was not a problem, but for a reader who doesn't understand, it will make him lose the interest in the book!
The most important thing I didn't like was the prologue was a very big giveaway!! I mean right after reading the prologue all the suspense was lost! So my recommendation to all the reader will be Skip the Prologue part!!

This read coincides with the valentine week that we are celebrating. Well , how many of us never brave to approach the love if he/she belongs to a different caste or religion? We , as Indians , how many of us will dare to face the family , relatives ( wanted and unwanted) when we want to go ahead with love marriage?
Welcome to the rebellious love story of Raghu and Sonam. Our Raghu is a shy introvert person until he meets the ever charming and outspoken Sonam. The couple have their own shares of sorrows and struggles in their relationship. However, Raghu and sonam head for a breakup due to the over possessiveness and insecurity of Raghu.
The characterization of the protagonists is good. The day to day situation of the couple having secret romance gets easily connected to the readers. The trauma that a middle class family realizes if their children are in love and that too their love interest belongs to a different caste is well portrayed here. The best part for me was the religiously spread of shayari from the famous shayars. It was an ultimate win factor for me.Totally a good love story with a twist in the end.
Will love rekindle between Raghu and Sonam?
How will the families react once they learn about the love story?

रायबरेली रोमांस, सरस आज़ाद द्वारा लिखी हुई उपन्यास अन्य जाती मे हो रहे प्रेम विवाह और सामजिक समस्या के उपर लिखी गयी है। उपन्यास के दो प्रमुख पत्र रघु और सोमन है। रघु जो एक दलित का लड़का है व सोमन क्षत्रिय की लड़की है। रघु जो सोमन से मिलने पूर्व एक शांत और गंभीर लड़का था पर जब उसे सोमन से प्यार हुआ तो उसके लिए जीवन को देखने का नज़रिया ही बदल गया। क्या सोमन और रघु एक दूसरे के साथ जीवन बिता पायेंगे या नही ये कहानी पढ़ने के बाद ही मालूम होगा।
कहानी उत्तरप्रदेश के दो छोटे शहरों की है, रायबरेली और लालजंग। लेखक ने बहुत ही उम्दा तरिके से और बेहद बरीक़े से शहरों के बारे मे लिखा है, वहाँ रहने वाले लोग, कैसे एक छोटे शहर मे एक दूसरे को जनता है, वहाँ का सामाजिक वातावरण तथा इन सब के बावजूद कैसे दो लोग अन्य जाती के होते हुए भी एक साथ होने का भरपूर प्रयास करते है।
कहानी जो एक तरह समाज को दर्शा रही थी वही दूसरी ओर वो दो प्रेमी लोगो के बिच के प्रेम और मतभेद को बहुत ही सरलता से बता रही थी। पाठकगड एक एक पत्र से जुड़ते जेएगें जैसे जैसे वो कहानी को पढेंगे।

It is a book of love story where at the end, the author also mention a social message for the readers.
The main character Raghu falls in love with Sonam when he saw her first time after 7 years. Before they are neighbors but that time they are kids and not talked with each other mostly.
Afterward, Sonam also Loved Raghu. But Raghu is a Dalit caste and Sonam is of Kshatriya. Their love is not possible for Sonam's parents, especially for her father. One day, they send some men to beat Raghu and the war start.
In between the story, many hurdles came, in their love story. Will they get succeed in their story? To know read the book.
Writing is simple and good. Narration is good. The writer mention the massage about the caste system. Why caste is so important for marriages and love in this era, in this 21century?
I read this book in Hindi also. I like the story hence I chose to read in English too. I also read "Ghanshyam Shastri" by same author, and I like that book too.

The story revolves around the life of Raghu and his love for a girl names Sonam. Raghu and Sonam were neighbors since their childhood but never really interacted much back then. But after 7 long years, when Raghu lays his eyes on Sonam, he instantly falls in love with her. When Raghu and Sonam finally confess their feelings for each other and everything seems to be perfect in their lives, they realise that their love with never be accepted by their families. Raghu was a Dalit and Sonam a Kshatriya.
Will Raghu and Sonam overcome all the hurdles? Or will the caste differences and societal pressure take over their love?
The writing style of the author is coherent and easy to understand. The book cover is not very attractive but the storyline is perfect. So don't judge this book by its cover and do give it a read.

This is a love story of Raghu and Sonam who are from different castes which is a big problem as Raghu is from a Dalit family and Sonam was from Thakur family. The story was so good. The love story, the way Sonam breakups with Raghu as he is always doubting her and not trusting Sonam again falls for Raghu. I liked the way they handle Suhas.
Man created the caste system. All are equal. I don't why still some people's minds have not developed to treat everyone based on their behavior and knowledge rather than seeing their caste. Even the cricket team in Raeberali had caste discrimination.
To know what happens next, whether the families accept their love? you should read no more spoilers...

Cover is beautiful. It has been designed very well. Title is catchy & puts a spark on the readers. The book essentially talks about an important issue in our modern society. We often here it the form of caste system. It's usually prevalent among the love stories in our country.
The language of the book is easy to use & understand. Narration is okay.
My favourite part of the book is the use of some nice urdu poetry in it.

Saras Azad's Raebareli Romance is a love story. Our main characters Sonam and Raghu were neighbors and sparks fly when they meet in Raebareli. The story talks about some important topics like caste, family status and many more. The writing style is simple and easy to read. The cover is not that great and doesn't do justice to the story.
Overall it was a good read. I would recommend it.

I have read many love stories..but this one was something that I found a bit different from the rest and the usual stories... The story tells about the two individuals who found each other in different scenario, each one with their own circumstances in life but the time they met and the sweet happenings afterwards...the ups and downs in their relation, the society point of view..all such incidents makes the story more amazing and realistic.
Raghu and Sonam are the main characters of the story.
All major parts of the story settle around Raghu and Sonam, Sonam falls in deeply love with Raghu but society does not accept their marriage due to caste system.
Well after completing the major part of the story
Many questions arise in my mind & I also hope the same questions also arise in the mind of readers.
Can society accept their marriage?
Can their family's support them?
Can Sonam and Raghu live a happy life together?
Well, answer to these questions everyone must read this book properly.
This is a good book which contains realistic Romantic story. I read its 'Paperback version'.

All other characters are well very written and beautifully described.
The story is a totally good and best but most good thing is writing style, very well balanced written on every word .... Like I can see everything is happening in front of me, very impressive work by the author.

Reading Hindi Love stories is fun & interesting.
When one comes across a Love story, Protagonist, Love bond & a villain are basic requirements. Repeating stories with a slight change in storyline & a twist, people have Started giving more priority to other genre's.
A social issue as a Villain rather than a character still attracts people & audience to connect to it..
No matter how many genres we explore, Love stories are something that can't be ignored.
This book is one among such stories that brings out our mistakes & a so called taboo as a hurdle and eventually catches our attention.
Raghu and Sonam falls in love with each other.
The bond explores to romance & seems like the best relationship.
The childhood friends who were separated for change in place gets united again..
But being with each other in childhood as friends & staying in relationship in youth among the updated world are two different things.
The age where innocence over rules everything, the love blossoms.
When the insecurities, doubt's takes birth, a relationship eventually fades away and we call it breakup.
But is it so easy to break up with someone whom we loved once upon a time?
What if Love conquers everything but Society stands as hurdle?

The "Raebareli Romance", is the first Hindi book by Sars Aazad. He has written amazing love story. The plot of the book is intriguing that keeps the reader hooked. The story is all about how a person's life can get affected by having doubts on his/her partner. Last but not the least story also draws our attention towards caste-system that has been affecting so many people's lives since ages.

🌺Book is about a love story with a backdrop of casteism. Raghu and Sonam were childhood neighbors and after some years Raghu's family moved from Lalganj to Raibareily. It was after 7 years that Raghu and Sonam met due to some reason and their cute romance started. Small towns have their own restrictions when it comes to love or relationships,it's not easy to flaunt your love life in small cities. Therefore Raghu and Sonam too had to face various speed breakers in their journey of love.
🌺This book is no less than of a 80's Hindi movie. It showcases the bond of Friendship, love of family, relationship and
societal drama. It's not a new concept but if you love to dive into sweet and spicy young love stories then do pick this up.
🌺Two things I liked in this book were that firstly the portrayal of the love story of Raghu and Sonam which had all the elements of young and immature love. It had passion, awkwardness, jealousy, possessiveness and insecurities. Secondly the issue of casteism which was highlighted appropriately. Last but not the least, book beautifully captured the flavour of Raibareily.

जिन लोगों ने कभी किसी से प्यार किया है वह इस किताब को जरूर पढ़ें खासकर की लड़के क्योंकि इस कहानी को एक लड़का सुना रहा है और जब कोई लड़का ऐसे पड़ता है तो उसे ऐसा लगेगा जैसे वह खुद इस कहानी के अंदर चला गया है।
यह कहानी मुझे बहुत अच्छी लगी क्योंकि यह कहानी 2004 की है जब प्रेम विवाह आसान नहीं हुआ करते थे और वह भी अलग-अलग जातियों में तो बिल्कुल नहींं।
इसके अलावा कहानी में बहुत सारी रोमांचक बातें बताई गई है कहानी को पढ़ने में मजा आता है और मन करता है इसे पढ़ते जाया जाए मैंने इस कहानी को एक बार में पूरा पढ़ लिया क्योंकि कहानी बहुत ही रोमांचक और मजेदार है।

Raebareli Romance is a book by the author Saras Azad. He is already recognized by his own style of writing. But, will not talk much about the author here. First of all , I guess the book cover is inspired from a photograph . By seeing the cover , you can have an imaginary appearance of the two protagonist.
If we talk about the blurb portion. This portion narrates the story very shorty but parcially gives a hint of the characters without revealing any spoiler.
The tittle completely goes well with the story's plot. It is a love story of Raghu and Sonam from Raebareli which is a small town in uttar pradesh. I think the tittle also contributes a lot in case of popularity of a novel and Raebareli Romance exactly does that.
Storyline- Raghu and sonam used to be neighbors during childhood. Sonam was an average looking girl but still she was the most beautiful girl in Raghu's eyes. Their love story started to begin in Raebareli itself.Acoording to Indian caste system, Raghu belonged to a Dalit caste while Sonam was a kshtraiya . But, Love wasn't enough to be together, it was caste system which matters a lot. The society and family won't accept their relationship because of caste difference. The Author showed us the harsh reality of our Indian society via a love story i.e really commendable. I really love the concept of this book with every minute description .

Raebareli Romance is a book by the author Saras Azad. He is already recognized by his own style of writing. But, will not talk much about the author here. First of all , I guess the book cover is inspired from a photograph . By seeing the cover , you can have an imaginary appearance of the two protagonist.
If we talk about the blurb portion. This portion narrates the story very shorty but parcially gives a hint of the characters without revealing any spoiler.

one of my favourite read till date. I finished this book in a single sitting and my emotions were so high that I kept on postponing writing my thoughts about this book. but every time I think about this book and the protagonist all I want is to read the book again !!

I'm an avid read trying different genre and different languages but unfortunately I only know 2 languages that is English an Hindi.
I choose that book as i need a book in Hindi and that too based on Bollywood films and I choose that book according to that only.
"Raebareli Romance", is a book by author Saras Aazad. it is first Hindi book by author and it is a love story as you can see in the cover of the book.
Male and Female protagonist of the story are Raghu and Sonam respectively. Raghu is kind of introvert while Sonam know how to start a conversation, she is totally opposite in that.
They both are neighbour in Lalganj but they got separated when Raghu's family shifted to Raebareli.
But after a time span of 7 years both met in Raebareli and started getting attracted towards each other and fell in love with each other but wait story isn't that much straightforward there are so many tortuous twists and turns in the story their is insecurities, self doubt, inter caste marriage, orthodox thinking, friendship, love and much more.
i like the way author has narrated the story in simple yet conversational way.
i don't read in Hindi but i like that as it is a gripping one.

This is a story of Raghu Kumar, who belongs to Raibereli and her girlfriend, Sonam, who lives in Lalganj, a place 32 k.m. far from Raibereli. They know each other from their childhood but at that time, they were just neighbours and not more than that. Raghu is shy and for him, talking with girls is more difficult than climbing The Everest, the latter is even possible. But when he meets Sonam, after seven years, he was at a sudden feels confident. You can tell it love at first sight. In the story there was friendship, love, drama, violence, court case, police and everything just like a Bollywood drama.
But let me tell you, it is not that gripping as it seems. There were some grammatical errors. Also, the story was not that filmy for me as it seems. The character was portrayed surfacial like more about their physical appearances and the emotional connection for me was somehow absence. Also, the story was somehow rushing for me, things change very rapidly. The romance was absence and as the things picturised, the main story seems less centralised. Also, more work can be done on the story.
I will recommend it to beginners. Romamce readers will find it ordinary and simple read amd not that great as it is expected.
According to me, the cover image was not that great.

In many parts of our country, intercaste Love is still not acceptable. Till date superstitions and credulity has surrounded us .
This story revolves around the two main characters namely, Raghu and Sonam; who are neighbours since so long but haven't even seen each other. They both lives in Raebareli even the title explains that very well. After 7 long years, Raghu saw Sonam and instantly falls in love with her. Thereafter Raghu confessed his love towards her and coincidentally Sonam felt attracted towards him . Finally she confessed and they started sharing a good bond within few weeks. Within a span of few months they were deeply and hardly getting into each other
They were having a perfect life with a beautiful memories. Somewhere in one corner of their heart they were knowing that nobody's gonna accept their love as Raghu was a dalit boy and and Sonam , a kshatriya girl.
Let's give it a pause and think, will they get married or not? Will there love be strong enough to go against all the wrongs and stand for the love or is it an end coming up .

Raebareli Romance written by Saras Azad, based on inter-cast love marriage that is still not welcomed by Indian society, especially in rural part. The story revolves around two main characters Raghu and Sonam. Raghu is a Dalit boy and Sonam is Kshatriya girl. Raghu is portrayed as a quiet and serious boy before meeting Sonam and after that his personality and attitude has been changed into a well confident character. A story is not totally unique as lots of stories have been written on such theme, but one thing must be mentioned here that the author tries to catch the true approach of common man towards inter-cast and love marriage. The author has tried to raise this one of the most burning issues of our Indian society in different way by using two small cities of UP.
The narrative is very much impressive and there are some typical rural phrases and idioms have been used which make it very interesting read. The cover and title are very simple indication about the story inside. Overall, it is worth reading as it provides a real perspective of rural environment and thought process of the people.

Intercaste marriage is still a big taboo in our society. No matter how much eligible the person is if their cast is different all the qualities will be curtailed in a short span of time...
This story sets on Raiberali itself whose jalebi made by gupta ji is well famous in the whole Raiberali. The main protagonist of the book is Raghu and Sonam .By nature Raghu is a kind of introvert who don't speak much and on the other hand sonam is a open-minded one who can easily approach anyone for a conversation without any hesitation. After almost seven year they met again and soon the attraction towards each other started growing...
Well because of the caste issue will they able to name their relationship ? Or were there bitter incidents awaiting for them?
It's a beautiful love story and it is written in hindi...the concept is still alive in our society so the reader can almost relate with the emotions of the protagonists...

The story revolves around a love story of Raghu and Sonam. But the love story is different. Different in the sense that the love element is meddled with the mentality of the society. The strength of love lies in differences. And the foremost difference they have in common is caste. And the society mercilessly breaks the definition of love by not accepting the differences.

This book is an eye-opener to the society. It shifts after an interval of seven years when Raghu falls in love with Sonam and it was love at first sight. Little did they know that the differences will not merge into one.
This book takes you on a journey of love and how the society sees it in particular. Love should not be defined on the basis of caste,creed or sex. Love is love. And in the end ,all that matters is love--love that lets you grow and explores the aroma of it.
