Mateo is the best on his team until a new kid named Aaron joins. Coach wants the boys to be good teammates, but will Mateo's jealousy get in the way?

A nice little story with a lesson about jealousy and how when someone is better than you that doesn't diminish your abilities. I like that this gymnastics book features boys. I don't know of any other picture books that feature male gymnasts. Hand this to sports lovers and extra competitive little beginning readers.

Mateo and his friends are on the same gymnastics team. One day, Aaron, a new kid, joins them and is better than Mateo at just about everything. With the winter competition coming up, how will their team do?

This is a good book to talk about jealousy, competitiveness, and teamwork. It's nice to see this dynamic worked out in a group of boy characters as there are many that are already focused on girls in this situation.
