Vivid photos and simple text that reveal a "primitive" culture more opulent than just about any modern billionaire's lifestyle, and with a philosophy that is richly intelligent, poetic and practical.
Each house, fishing boat, personal ornament, each quotidian artifact seems a masterpiece that would be a prized exhibit in the world's finest museums, but is just a regular piece of life in their pre-plastic world.
An astonishing book.
