This is a classic work of contemporary meditation that explores the mysterious cycle "of wounding and healing, of dying and rising" present in the spiritual life.
Based as a pilgrimage of a Lenten journey, author Alan Jones uses literature, art, philosophy, psychology, biblical texts, and his own experience to create a detailed yet precise vision of the meaning of life. Mr. Jones at times gets a little too "praise Jesus!" for my tastes - my experience has been that when faith and spirituality reverts to the use of Explanation/Exclamation Points!! that you are not digging enough for the inner meaning. But those times are thankfully rare. One is left with a peaceful little book that would be a good guide for meditation as one moves through the Lenten season.
