As one might guess from the title, this book is a collection of 59 stories, most of them no more than three or four pages long. A few of them are connected to another story, but most are stand-alones.

Naturally, one will be interested in some more than others. I was particularly interested in the "Moby Dick" story — the Nova Scotia connection to this now-famous novel.

Some of the Nova Scotia connections are thin, at best. For example, the artist who drew Tarzan and Prince Valiant was born here. Some are even more tenuous, for example, the artist who drew Bambi may have seen pictures of Nova Scotian deer!

The result is entertaining, perfect to pick up and read a story or two. I did learn quite a lot; many of the stories I had never heard before.
