I look forward to connecting with you here as well as my website and on Bluesky. I am also on Substack lissajohnston.substack.com

I also have a YA trilogy under the pen name L. J. Johnston.

I have a Masters in History thanks to a process of elimination working my way through Pre-Med (Calculus, yuck!), Psych (live subject experiments required - check NO), and Accounting (OMG do I have to explain this?) before landing in a junior level history class that pushed all my Nerd buttons. I'm not a complete idiot. I knew there wasn't much of a career path for historians. The plan was to use my history major and business minor to get into law school. However I skipped the LSAT due to a massive hangover, decided it was all for the better, and kept hittin' that history until I had a Master's. Okay, maybe a little bit of an idiot. I did pick up a certificate in archival administration (NERD), so I've got that goin' for me. . .

I'm a classic case of adult ADHD combined with Type A introvert, add a dash of World Class Underachiever and Lazy in the guise of Work Smarter, Not Harder. I have a long-unfulfilled dream of making a good living as a writer, unfulfilled mostly due to my poor work habits. As all of you fellow AADDs out there can attest, the impulse to work linearly often conflicts with the logic of working on the projects most deserving of one's attention (read: potential for sale/success) FIRST. That coupled with my ability to generate dozens of story ideas on demand with the deadly failing of never following through on any of them, and you have, well, me.

I would recommend this book to whoever loves to do art because art is a subject that anyone could do and love. Also because they could do the job that Frida did and become famous. this book is great because now I know more about Frida and what she painted. I learned that we should always try our best drawing something and even if it's not good, keep trying and you'll see that you'll get better.
