Things have begun to go awry for the gods of Earth, with control of the game they started quickly leaving their grasp.
A new arc has begun and with it a new quest, one that involves helping the world and potentially saving Charles and Charlotte's parents. Unhappy gods plot behind the scenes, desperate to enter the game before their time. Unfortunately, their interference results in a powerful old spirit being awoken from its millennia long slumber.
The Game of Gods is about to get a new player, one that none of them can control.

I was born in a little town situated somewhere in Ohio and raised in an even smaller town some place in Colorado. I attended University for a time, where I discovered that while I enjoyed Electrical Engineering and Computer Science my true passion lay in writing. I live primarily in Colorado but have been known to move around as the need arises. When not writing, I enjoy riding motorcycles, reading anything I can get my hands on, and anime.
So this came out today I got super excited when I saw it's release date early this month as I wasn't expecting it this soon. I could have easily finished it in one sitting but life gets in the way of that so it took the day. The world continues to expand from the first two volumes in the series and creates some more bridges to the authors parallel series The Dungeon Alaria which is also good. We get a few questions answered but a lot of new ones added. We get to meet new champions and more of the ever increasing gods and goddesses. We see potential plot points forming as well. The story has it's ups and downs with a lot of the gritty but necessary plot for the world building taken care of as fast as possible but still at a pace that slows the overall story down. We get a few nice battles and other exciting sequences as well. The end of the book wasn't anticlimactic either. We also get some relationship progress between the main characters and don't worry there is plenty of love for Alli as well, shes almost the star of this volume more than Charles. Lastly I will say the author is getting better at playing with his readers emotions. If you read the book you will know exactly what scene I am talking about. It's not a perfect story but it's easily a 4.7/5 but since I can't score it that way it's worth rounding up. Highly recommend.
Good things first. Book is very well written. Only a few noticable grammar issues. The book is setup for several future books or spinoffs. The downside is the MC is still an idiot. Several times in the beginning the MC made so bad of mistakes EVERYONE called him an idiot. He even did himself. He is on autopilot with quests and does nothing to enhance the story only diminshes it. Having such broken characters, all 3 main characters, in a dump of a world, with gods against them is not entertaining. The first 25% of the book the mc was making up for being an idiot. 40 to 80 % was more town building. The last 10% was prepping and fighting an opposing god.
A well paced addition to the series that has the same strengths (great story, interesting characters, and it leaves me waiting for the next in the series!) and weakness (badly needs editing. No typos but some awful grammar that at times mid-represents what I think the author was aiming for).
I’d happily give it 5 stars if it had some competent editing done. Wonky phrasing and grammar mistakes do detract from things, but overall it’s a book well worth reading.
Well, the story was good but the allegory was over the top. More story and character involvement to the reader, rather than the filler "allegory" of explaining the self-explainable.
Also, quit using the weak trope of the "Dark and Evil Gods" are of Egyptian (Black) origin. Why are all gods of colour (Black, Asian, Oriental and Indigenous) always lesser than the Northern European Gods?
They are definitely older and wiser and the Greek and Roman gods are built from their template.
I look forward to the continued story and I hope it improves.
This story of the old gods changing earth to a RPG world is unique but similar to other stories. The MC is a champion of the DUNGEON Master god and is not suppose to be involved in the Game, but the evil gods keep trying to kill him. It’s kind of understandable as he is the only magic user and is tasked to teach other humans. The only problem is he doesn’t really like other people except for family and friends.
Solid progression for the series. Not a lot of push on the premise of the Game of the God's for me, but some clarity at least has been brought to the fore. Some hints that were dropped in the first two books come into focus in this one, so that's good. All in all, a good book, a solid recording, good performace by Ramón.
Though the series changes direction and it is obvious that many of those changes were ret-conned, it came together to flow in a reasonable and comprehensive direction. Ultimately I believe this book will be a good bridge between the simple story that came before and the complex tapestry that is ahead.
It has an odd flow to it, to be honest it feels kinda dry in the beginning but got better. Some of the wordage is just odd other times I just wonder... Here is I bit of a quote from a m.I.t college "“I don’t, we know nothing about how the dungeons" really ? The format is odd but the story over all is interesting.
Good book. Moves the story along at the end. The writing gets a little tedious at times but and some things get a lot of detail while others are glossed over. Still, looking forward to see where it goes from here.
Great book. Followed the series so far we’ll and have us more progress and information about the world. The world building is flare at and I enjoyed the character development as it slowly progressed rather than super fast as some books have done.
Another enjoyable entry to the series. Still dislike how the other humans are so disadvantaged but at least we are seeing a bigger picture. Looking forward to the next one.
Highly enjoyable read I just wish there was more but I know that time is required for quality. I've seen what happens to authors that rush to pump out product and its better to wait for the good stuff, for us and the author.
I really enjoyed this third book in the series and am looking forward to the next book. If you haven't read any of the other books in this series you are really missing out on a great read.
It's been ages since I read the previous books, to the point where I almost forgot about them. But within a few chapters of this book I was swept away again in the authors style and content. Highly reccomend this series and this book in particular.
If you read the original book then book 3 of the series gets you moving ahead in this Very Good and Long story I'm really enjoying the author entertaining me for hours in the journey of his story!!!?
Really nice book. Paced well with good anticipation and good anti heroes. I like the character development even if if it's a little obvious and not fully good out. I look forward to the next one.
The author lacks in many ways. World details, combat details; can’t even keep track of the details he adds, contradicting himself a couple paragraphs later. Or opposite, referring to material that was never included in the first place.
