Drought has come to Canaan and Jacob s sons must travel to Egypt to look for food, including youngest son Benjamin. Their brother Joseph, now governor of the land, wonders if his brothers have changed since the days they sold him into slavery. Would they abandon Benjamin too? Told through the eyes of young Benjamin, the story of Joseph s test and the dramatic reunion of the brothers will capture the imagination of readers young and old.

This is a really nice children's book, very well written. The story is true to the biblical story and for young readers, it is easy to read and understand. The illustrations are extremely well done and the story is printed over the illustrations so the whole book is very colorful. I can't wait to give it to my two young friends to see what they think of it, as they are the main reason I entered this giveaway. I think it will ultimately end up in my church library as well as the other stories written by Jaqueline Jules once I buy them. I would like to see her stories available to lots of young readers as the values it teaches are so important. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of her stories.
A really great telling of the story of Yaakov's sons going to Egypt to see if they could find food, and what happened there with Shimon, Benyamin, Yehuda, and Yosef! I almost cried when Yosef told them to get closer. I really need to read the torah myself one day.
My kids loved this picture book which we read to supplement our reading of the story of Joseph in the Old Testament, as part of our ancient history curriculum. Though the author takes a few liberties with what is written in the Bible, overall she brings these Biblical figures to life through a family story that really resonates with young readers. Even my two-year-old learned to recognize some key figures through our repeated read-alouds of this book!
Love this story, it's from my Bar Mitzvah portion: Vayeshev. Jules never disappoints. Love this book. A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY RELIGIOUS SCHOOL LIBRARY AND EVERY YIDDISH HEIM. NU,?
