A good story and a nice way to show how editing changes aspects of the storytelling. Two different versions were in the book of the same thriller. This was an engaging story, but the first version had character detail and sex in it. The published magazine version cut out three thousand words. I think this a terrific exercise for writers. Surprisingly, I noticed little difference in my enjoyment from one version to the next, though I think the longer, sexier version is slightly more preferred.
