Pretty good mystery in a fast-reading format. At a little over 100 pages, it’s a nice quick read for those that don’t need a lot of details to be satisfied.
Brilliant thriller. Had me totally convinced about the Senator being the criminal. What a wonderful twist with an amazing climax! Never expected such an ending. Too good to be missed.
It still amazes me how well these short books work as mystery novellas. Also how little time it takes to make the characters three-dimensional. This is definitely the book you want to take on a boring travel taking two hours, especially if you're near Washington, D.C.
A Baltimore law firm is hired to handle the divorce of a senator and his wife. But there’s a slight twist to this divorce, the wife is missing. So how do you serve divorce papers on the wife? Why doesn’t the senator go to the police to find his wife? Now to add more mystery to this story, the wife’s best friend was murdered. So now attorneys Steve and Loni Lewis have to find the wife and try to figure out if the murder of the wife’s best friend is connected to the senator’s wife disappearance. I liked how the writers presented the two different mysteries into the storyline, adding some very good suspense and drama.
