In this book, Dr. R. B. Ouellette examines twelve popular Christian assumptions by God's Word, presents the truth, and explains its application in our lives. Uncover the truth behind questions such as Is burnout inevitable? Will God pour out unbelievable blessings if we tithe? and Is there a difference between big sins and little sins? When it comes to what you believe, let God's Word be the final authority. Never be afraid to challenge your assumptions with, What does the Bible say?
Very good. It won't change your life, but it does make emphasis that we Baptists fail at times to make. It points us to the Scriptures and encourages us to use our mental faculties rather than accepting wholesale what others have said.
Says Who? asks that question, not to be disrespectful, but rather to place the authority where it belongs, in God. He addresses a few common beliefs, thought processes, and sayings and compares them to what the Bible actually teaches. You may not be dramatically affected by the teachings specifically, but I think, like me, you will start to think more seriously about blindly accepting things as true without checking them out yourself.
Dr. Ouellete has given us a clear presentation of scripture and what subjects that The Bible addresses in a clear and down to earth approach. I highly recommend this book as well as any other book he has written.
