International Behavioural and Social Sciences: Classics from the Tavistock Press: US/Canadian Edition

Rate this book
This collection reprints a selection of classic works from the Tavistock Press social and behavioral sciences series. Many of these works have gone out of print or are difficult to locate, making this set an invaluable resource for academic libraries engaged in collection-building or in search of sturdy, library-bound replacement volumes that will stand up to repeated use.

The Tavistock Institute holds a unique place in the development of the social and behavioral sciences. Established in 1947, it has long been a pioneering force in the study of human relations in the context of the family, the work group, and the larger organization, and is famous for seminal work in such key methodologies as group dynamics, action research, and organizational development.

Tavistock Press--established in the 1950s as a co-operative venture between the Institute and Routledge & Kegan Paul--produced a series of major contributions across the social sciences. Continuing late into the 1980s, the activities of the Press mirrored those of the Institute. Tavistock Press published numerous groundbreaking works by some of the world's most eminent scholars, including titles by Melanie Klein, Wilfred Bion, D. A. Winnicott, Elliot Jaques, and others. The volumes in this special collection are selected from those areas Tavistock helped to create, as well as the more established fields to which it made significant contributions.

Volumes are available individually or as an economically priced set. For volume prices, look up individual titles or ISBNs on the Routledge website, or contact our Library Marketing department
