The North Korean Supreme Leader is dead. A rogue general has seized power. And the only man who can stop it is falling apart.
Jack Hunter is a shell of his former self. He knows he's being watched, being followed. But he doesn't care. He's drifting from town to town, city to city. He wants to die.
When the President is kidnapped and a nuclear bomb explodes off the coast of Hawaii, Jack is brought back to the CIA.
The operation is called: Hollow point.
The mission is simple: Kill the general, rescue the President.
What unravels is a Jack Hunter story unlike any other.
Brace yourself, Hollow Point is a non-stop, adrenaline-laced thrill ride.
I enjoyed the previous Jack Hunter books quite a lot and looked forward to Mr. Cash's progression as a writer. Unfortunately, I was only able to get thru the first few chapters of his newest effort before giving up. There were numerous spelling mistakes, overuse and misuse of words like "smirk" and "leer", tired plot contrivances, shallow characters and long background explanations that added virtually nothing to the story. I will certainly look forward to trying his next effort, provided he can find a spell checker, a good proofreader and an editor who can add value.....as well as a main character who is relentless, confident in his abilities and does not suffer fools.
Total train wreck. The editor and proofreader are the worst I have ever seen and should look for a new career path. Right from the beginning the reader is left to decipher what the misplaced or misspelled words are or mean. First two books were terrific and was looking forward to this third installment. Unfortunately, Jack has lost his edginess and become a drug addled operative. Difficult to feel for him or get invested in his plight. Silly MI6 agent who talked and acted like a little school girl. Still trying to figure out who Fawn really is. Mr. Cash has his work cut out for him to get Jack Hunter back as the protagonist the reader expects.
All 3 stories have been good, fast paced and action packed. What is good about them, is that they form a good timeline of the lives of the main characters. What's bad is that so many lose ends are left, that get raised but never go anywhere. Maybe book 4 will tie them all up, but I doubt it For book 3 the whole concept beggars belief, but is fun. An American president, yet again at risk. Makes you wonder what the secret service does Jack does his usual thing and people die as a result, unfortunately for Jack some of those are people he cares about and that just pushes a step closer each te to the edge
This is a fine, inventive story and decent read, but it’s kind of bland compared to his earlier work. He’s eliminated the over the top sex, language and violence that gave his previous books the edginess that set them apart in the genre. I feel like he’s kind of neutered Jack Hunter as well, making him depending on a drug he can only get from the CIA. Although, there are hints that he is rapidly developing a tolerance to it, so maybe that’ll be a complicating factor. The author also introduced a great new female character who I hope to see more of.
I found the story interesting. I must say the editing left a lot to be desired. RC might want to reread his product before he allows it to be published. Errors were highlighted on Goodreads.
I loved the characters in this series and found the outline a little to close to the truth. It's well written and now I have to wait for the next book on the series to pick up where this tale ended.
Well, this is Rawlin Cash third book with Jack Hunter. it was a fascinating and a very quick read. Sometimes I wish these books never ended and they were 10,000 pages long. I look forward to book number four. Rawlin, keep up the good work
A good read that provides interesting similarities to today’s political quandaries. It begs the questions of today’s headlines of “who is really in the driver’s seat.
Good thing to read if you need to kill time without a lot of serious thoughts. Typical hero created by the USA in their search to dominate through the use of a super-soldier that triumphs no matter what the odds.
