Would be a great book to convince a windows user that Linux rox. Otherwise, more of a troubleshooting manual for new users of linux. It was fun to follow along with the projects though. Includes a distro of Red Hat

Pretty handy dandy for anyone who wants to learn Linux. It's a little outdated for todays standards, so you might want to check out Ubuntu for Non-Geeks. It's a bit more recent.

I had this as part of a college course. Great book for learning Linux. It comes with fedora core OS to install. As someone else suggested, I'd recommend the Ubuntu version
